Re: Selling SC2 with non-working motorized belts

She usually takes the bus to school, so technically I guess her since she walks to the bus stop. If I'm working I'll have the car. If I end up working from home, car will likely sit there most of the...

Re: Selling SC2 with non-working motorized belts

Um, I didn't buy the Metro. She needed a car summer '04, family from church gave her the Metro. Logisitically (and financially) it makes much more sense to share the car that's already in Iowa, so...

Re: Selling SC2 with non-working motorized belts

I believe three times the SC2 was a 1/2 quart low after 2,500 miles, so no typical Saturn oil-burning issues.

Re: Selling SC2 with non-working motorized belts

Sold the car last Wednesday (Dec. 21) and they signed off on problems. A couple bought the car as a Christmas gift for their 17-year-old daughter. For the first time since Aug. 1998, I don't own a...

Selling SC2 with non-working motorized belts

So the time has come to sell my SC2. Getting married this month and moving to Iowa, my little Satty won't be coming along.
In August 2002 the motorized belts died, no problem as I've just been...

Re: Best 1st gen SW?

LOL, I've always found that funny too. My theory is Saturn felt if people are going to be crammed in there where there's no room, the least you could do is offer them a place to put their beverage....

Re: Car sounds supercharged

Last couple of mornings my SC2 suddenly picked up a bad whining sound when cold. New battery last week, new accessory belt couple of months ago so my first guess was alternator. I'm selling the car...

Re: Long time no post

LOL! :D
Yeah, things can change rather quickly sometimes, can't they? How have you been lately? How is your family doing? I'll give a shout when I visit Puyallup tonight. One of my editors (I've...

Happy Long time no post

Anyone remember me? Probably been 3-4 months since I've been here. :D
Things have been busy. Been covering lot of racing, a 200 lapper at a local track Saturday plus NHRA Friday and Sunday. Two...

Re: Been a LONG Time!!

Bryan--
Sorry to hear the news about your mom's passing. My mom was similar age (58) when she lost her extended battle (little over two years) in Oct. 2003. I'm glad you have the perspective of how...

Re: High Mileage Saturn Owners

Craig Murphy
Lacey, WA
1994 SC2 (previously owned a 1993 SL1)
Her name's Heather, but haven't called her that for a while. Usually she is Satty.
101,900 miles now, had 52,450 when I bought her....

Re: how much do you love/hate your Saturn?

Probably somewhere between the first two catagories. My SL1 had some overall bigger problems (reverse slam, oil burning) while my SC2 has had smaller problems but more of them. Still, my SC2 is a...

Re: bring back the s-series

I agree with others who have posted bringing back the outdated S-series wouldn't help Saturn. Besides, 124 hp max was pretty low in 2002 (especially for a sporty car like the SC2) and wouldn't be any...

Re: What years had the pop up headlights?

Considering it's a dealership, the $1,495 price actually seems kinda low to me, like they know it has a problem(s) and they're trying to unload it. Or maybe it has absolutely no options and cracked...

Re: ABS- Rather pointless

Personally, having ABS is a requirement for any car I buy. The fact Saturns had ABS and TC available starting in '93 (with AT) was one of the big reasons I've bought two. Obviously ABS won't work in...

If anyone thinks all Saturns are boring, I'd be happy to offer rides along twisty backroads in my SC2. :D

Re: Rust on sunroof tracks

My SC2's sunroof had rust on the tracks when I bought the car nearly four years ago, and I haven't had any problems with the sunroof during my ownership. I would like to get rid of the rust someday,...

Re: Best and worst Selling Cars for 2004

Wow, that's an extremely positive spin on some pretty bad sales results. Keep in mind that Saturn sold nearly 300,000 S-series cars a decade ago, and 100,000 sales gets seen in a truer perspective....

Re: Clean '92 SL2 for Sale, WA

Wow, nice Satty. Even in the same state. If it was a manual and different color I'd be calling about swapping cars. Hopefully you'll find someone who will take care of it as well as you have.
