Re: Valve tap

fdryer's idea regarding a lifter is the most likely possibility as a cause for the noise you're concerned with. I've had cold temperature lifter noise during the Winter season (yes, even here in...

Re: jack stands and floor jack

FWIW, lifting the front end of on an L-Series car is needed so that a drain pan can get underneath the car (at least it is for my drain pan). It also is easier to access the radiator drain cock from...

Huh...tell me something I don't already know! :tounge:

It reminds of a song with these lyrics: "It's getting to the point where I'm no fun any more." So for the rock 'n roll trivia fans, which...

Re: Soft brake pedal...going crazy

After reading through the replies here I am inclined to agree with fdryer and believe that the process needs to be reexamined. Have any of the flexible brake hoses collapsed, or are they still in...

Re: not able to attach jpg images to forum post

I'd suggest skipping any "tactics" and simply do something another member did to overcome the 15 post threshold: create some very, very short thread posts. You need either one or two so write...

Re: Cruise Control Buttons

There was a very recent arrival of an LW2 at my local Pick-Your-Part that I saw for myself with the pewter (grey) interior which was in very good condition. So much so that took a pair of front door...

Re: What is this noise from my 2.2 ecotec engine with 160k miles?

You don't have a spun bearing at present. A spun bearing will result in a loss of oil pressure, loss of compression, and the engine will quit. At that point the engine is finished and it's time for a...

Re: 2003 2.2L won't start after sitting 6 months

That is correct, of course. What one would do is remove the spark plug boots and improvise by utilizing a single spark plug wire to attach to each coil pack contact and the spark plug. If you prefer...

Re: The tale of the blown head gasket

That's helpful. Thank you!

To quote an old Tom Petty song: "Oh, my, my...oh, hell yes!"
