Re: Sun Visor question

Meh.

I was responding to trottida, as his post was relevant to my own case, and turned out to be good advice, at least for me.

I can make a new thread when I have some pics to post.

I...

Re: Sun Visor question

I can confirm that the 2003-2007 Cadillac CTS sun visors fit my wife's 2000 SL1 nicely and look good, but you want to do this swap as part of recovering the headliner, as they are about 2" longer...

Re: Parts LS-100 in Victoria, TX area

Thanks for looking; ol' Blue has gone to the Great Highway in the Sky.

That car owes me nothing; gave its all to protect me and my daughter from yet ANOTHER idiot Texas "Driver". I wish you peace,...

Parts LS-100 in Victoria, TX area

Hi there... I've been a loyal Saturn fan for 2 decades, but it is time for my old LS to go, as I'm moving. She's high-mileage, has been run over by a jackhole in a jacked-up 4x4, and I've pulled the...

Re: New Tires/Rims...

Ooops... forgot to add -

I picked these wheels up from my local boneyards for an average of $40 each with center caps. I did have to go to 3 yards to get the full set in good condition; but they...

Re: New Tires/Rims...

These are the older style 15"x7" Alloy wheels as installed on my 2001 L100.

As you can see, they aren't terribly sporty looking, but they are a definite improvement over the stock steel wheels....

Re: Air Bag replacement interval

fdryer -

I was being facetious; I've been a professional repair person of one sort or another for over 20 years, a large part of that time active as an auto mechanic (No, NOT an Auto Repair...

Re: Air Bag replacement interval

So...

Just when a car is most likely to be driven by a teenager with no sense... (nearly at it's end of life, when it's really cheap so the average teenager can afford it) is when the airbags...

Re: The 2-3 second fuel-pump prime...

Leard -

Just to be certain... your vehicle is a 2001 2.2 4-cyl, right?

My PWR Distribution schema for the 2001 3.0 V6 shows one side of the fuel pump relay COIL connected to +12V at ENGINE CNTL...

2001 L100 - Adding Cruise Control

I have spent quite a bit of time searching on the subject, and the only posts I've found only mention Cruise Control in passing, usually while speaking about the dread BCM-failure issue these cars...

Re: Maintanence on '02 L200

Of course it does; this is true of ANY piece of machinery. That DOES NOT mean it is NOT intended to ever be replaced during the life of the vehicle... to suggest that, particularly on a component...

Re: L200 Knocking Sound (Suspension)

If you can't feel it in the steering wheel, I'd suspect it is in the rear end; these cars have a lower control arm bushing at the rear end that fails fairly frequently. Support the vehicle from the...

Re: Maintanence on '02 L200

You know, I don't know where you guys get the idea that a timing chain is a "lifetime part"; they never were in the old days - MFR always recommended replacement at 80k on ANY straight 6/V8 engine....

Too true... it seems at times to be their raison d'etre...

Re: Bosch Platinum Plugs No good?

ACCCK!

You are, of course... absolutely right. Between them and the
K-Cars they nearly bankrupted Chrysler due to their 7-70 & 10-100 Extended warranty; where I lived in the salt belt, we were...

Re: Bosch Platinum Plugs No good?

FWIW;

I started using the regular Bosch Platinum plugs with an old Dodge Rampage (Think El-Camino-ized Omni K-Car) beater that was burning a little coolant; I found that the ceramic-shrouded...

Mike -

You are correct of course - if you went to the DEALERSHIP there wouldn't be any indication of the turmoil going on at GM... would really you expect them to advertise their weakness? Look...

Re: Saturn canada closing dec 31/2009 letter

No hint... good lord, read a book. Your ignorance of the world around you is not only astounding, it is not my problem.

The first time GM considered pulling the plug on Saturn was in 2006; it was...

Re: door locks wont work

One of your doors should have a child safety interlock on it; I suspect that would be your culprit. Otherwise, there may be a fuse in the other panel - there is a fuse panel under the hood and...

Re: Saturn canada closing dec 31/2009 letter

Re: started clutch replacement, have questions

Looks to me like you got some foreign contaminant in there that caused that uneven wear; from looking at the flywheel I'm confident the disc was contacting across the entire surface, just not so well...
