Re: What's your favorite memory in your S-series?

Those guys certainly have had a few motors over the years. They built mine as well.

Re: my engine has 50k... what should i be doing to PREVENT oil consumtion later?

Nope. Every gasoline has detergents. Albeit, only a small amount in each underground tank. If your car is running correctly, nearly all of this stuff is burned along with the gas. There's really...

Re: my engine has 50k... what should i be doing to PREVENT oil consumtion later?

Saturn catalytic convertors crap out regardless of Seafoam, MMO, or otherwise. There is no evidence to support that any of these products prematurely take down cats. I would be more concerned about...

Re: Is 1qt of MMO too much?

How are you using the MMO? As an additive to oil, it's not really going to do a whole lot of good. It doesn't retain the same lubricating properties as your 5w-30 oil. My personal feeling is that...

Re: A very sad day for me

Update:

SLeepr, now in the hands of a good friend, has been resurrected. Today, a $200 junkyard motor went in and we spent a good part of the day troubleshooting a few bugs. However, it is now...

A very sad day for me

Today, I sold my medium red, 94' SL2 (lovingly referred to as "SLeepr"). After 11 years of modifying, tinkering, and occastional auto-x/roadracing/drag racing, I no longer will be relying on my SL2...

Re: Wrong O2 sensor - Saturnparts.com

As long as the CA SMog guys don't balk at it. I'll do my best to make it slick looking.

Wrong O2 sensor - Saturnparts.com

I ordered an O2 sensor for my 94' SL2, as it failed smog recently. I jumped on to Saturnparts.com, plugged in my car's info, and received the part a week later. I removed the old sensor (buggered...

Catalytic Converter/ stumped

I'm getting ready to sell my 94' SL2. It failed smog on the dyno and I need to replace the catalytic converter. However, since I'm running 2 1/4 exhaust piping, the direct-fit models probably won't...

Re: NOx emissions, EGR seems to work fine!!

The plugs' condition could be normal wear. I also would guess that your cat may be the culprit. I'm in the same situation, although my HCs are a bit high.

Re: Of all people, I've got Smog problems

Before I go out and buy a cat, does anyone else have other ideas?

I will do the usual stuff (clean EGR, piston soak, etc) but don't want to buy things that I don't need.

Of all people, I've got Smog problems

I've always extended myself to help people with their CA smog issues. Now I'm sitting on one of my own.

Here's the data:

15mph - %CO2 = 13.8 O2 = 0.6 HC = 222 CO% = 0.44 NO = 2025

25mph...

Re: FS: H&R Race Springs

The drop is around 2". These are very stiff and would be tough on your rearend over potholes. Great for auto-x or roadrace, though.

The outside coating shows some weathering from use but in...
