Re: "Service Traction" - "Service ESC" comes up

Bumping this old thread because my car has been doing this for over a year and although I've taken the main fuse box apart under the hood and cleaned every single pin/connector, cleaned battery...

I had a friend come over and program a used key fob for my Aura last night. All was fine it only took him 10 minutes. I drove the car to dinner and back home. Used the key fob to lock the car for...

WTB - passenger side silver mirror & key fob

Needing passenger side mirror assembly in silver (silverflash?) or could probably get by with just the glass. Not heated but if yours is, that's okay.

Also, would like a keyfob. I can likely...

Re: Getting the Bolt Off the End of the Crankshaft

Problem I had when trying to get mine off with the crow-bar method of jamming the pulley:

I looked at all possible angles but the only angle that worked had my crowbar resting against the aluminum...

Re: Anyone hoarding parts.

When I was in my s-series prime, I had 2 or 3 of damn near every common failure item. Heck, I was even running a small business here via PM parts requests and turning a tiny profit. I probably sold...

Re: Just Bought a 2009 Aura XE with 65K

I'd probably do the tranny again at 75k, then every 25k after that. It's somewhat of an extensive job to do the drain/fill yourself. My local GM shop wanted $200 to do the "flush" method. For $35...

Re: XR Gas Mileage 33.8MPG!?!

Good points on the torque making up the difference and preventing a downshift.

I'd be curious to test in cruise control going downhill to watch instant MPG and record (say it reads 52mpg coasting...

Re: XR Gas Mileage 33.8MPG!?!

You guys using cruise control aren't doing yourselves any favors!

I've found the idea that cruise control is so much more beneficial than using your own foot to be somewhat wrong.

Re: XR Gas Mileage 33.8MPG!?!

According to fuelly.com when I last checked to compare my 2.4L to the V6 cars, the V6 cars were averaging 22-23 or there about, the 4 cylinder cars were averaging 26-27mpg.

I'm not sure about a...

I'm imagining a caliper/rotor/bracket.... and I'm having a hard time understanding how that is even possible...?

So you mean you had the driver's caliper on the passenger side, and pass on driver?...

Re: Talk me out of it!

His ad said 72k, the car has 169k... he didn't disclose that in the ad.

The guy selling it is a crooked SOB and you should've told him to go F himself for wasting your time with a deceitful ad.

Re: So...someone snuck a Supercharge on my SL1.

If it's not audible during raising RPM's in neutral, and ONLY audible while driving the car - throw out bearing is going bad or your transmission is low on fluid or the fluid is in need of replacing.

Re: Talk me out of it!

Go buy it!

If I was near FL I would've already went and drove it and offered him $1,500 cash and brought it back to KY with me.

At 75k miles it's a steal.... and no, the KBB may not reflect...

Re: ScanGuageII showing TPS at 15 at idle

Thanks fdryer - makes sense that SGII isn't reporting TPS at 0 now that I let it sink in that it's an electronic TB and cannot possibly run at 0 or a true closed position.

Also - I was kinda on...

Re: Sacrilege

My old '96 SL2 was burning 2 quarts of oil per 300 miles.

It was getting too expensive to use new oil in it, even the cheapest of oils, which I didn't feel confident in.

I...
