Re: Please help to diagnose my rattling

Like Blue92 said, most of the exhaust pipe noises in that part of the car come from the failure of the muffler hanger. If you raise the tailpipe and then just let it slip out of your hand, there...

Re: 02 SL2 Ignition lock cylinder

Like 96SLI said, you don't want to copy a used, worn out key. The GM dealer can cut a new key from your VIN. It's a lot easier and cheaper to get a new key than to replace the cylinder- especially...

Re: 97 SL1 Blown Headgasket and bad Subframe

Re: oil in my coolant resivore

I had lots of problems with with '95 thru '97 DOHC engines. Porous heads (defective castings?) were the problem and the milkshake in the coolant bottle was the result. Like Squareback said, more...

Re: Brushes for Power Window Motor 2000 SL2

First of all, I would like to commend you for doing the extra work discovering the problem and trying to do the earth friendly thing. That's the path I always take (mainly because I'm a tightwad)....

Re: 94 SL2 leaking water under pulley

The water pump is the most likely culprit. It's a fairly simple job. Check video on You Tube. The hardest part is removing the three bolts from the pulley.

Re: 2002 Saturn SL2 133410 miles smoking and not allowing oil into motor

White smoke is usually coolant related. What do you mean "it won't let oil into the engine"? Is the engine already full of water/oil? Check your dipstick. What does it look like?

Re: Back end vibrates badly when idling in Drive

Did you check your muffler hanger? Grab the tailpipe and pull up slightly, then let it drop. If it makes a metailic sound , it is broken.

Re: 2000 SL1 Coolant in Oil

Throw it in. Those engines are extremely durable. As long as it doesn't have a bunch of oil leaks, you should be good to go. Check the intake gasket, If it is the original composite gasket, change...

Re: Hard starting SW2...

The ECTS/connector would be a good place to start. That is the most problematic area on these cars. Normally, a defective one won't even trigger the SES light.
