Re: Cat replacement part number
I'm dumb, I can't believe I didn't look it up on Walker's website. For reference, that part number is 93236.
A quick cross reference shows a very similar sized EASTERN CATALYTIC 70257 - any...

Cat replacement part number
I need to replace the cat (federal emissions, not CA) on my 1998 SL2. Does anyone have a known part number for a universal cat they've used that works? I assume I need one with the rear 02 bung in...

Rec. engine mount supplier?
2007 Vue 5spd 2.2
This is a two part question: What sources have you guys had good luck with for engine mounts? I've been looking around and not really finding them all. For example, RockAuto...

Re: Removing Stock Chrome Roof Rails?
Did you ever do this?
Debating doing this on our '07 VUE. I'm not a fan of the rack at all.
It appears a non-roof rail cover plate is needed once removed?

Re: Been great but Bye Bye
Most just replace cars much more often.
I hear this: http://www.waxoyl-usa.com/Products.aspx?code=WAX-001&key=cat is amazing though.

Re: V6 Swaybar on a 4Cyl VUE?
Sorry, you said bushings, not swaybar bushings. I was assuming you meant control arms, links, etc. I've done that before on several cars and it is far more invasive than just swaybar bushings. Yes...

Re: V6 Swaybar on a 4Cyl VUE?
Poly bushings are an ordeal I don't really want to deal with at this point. I don't have room in the garage at the moment to be pressing bushings in & out. I haven't seen a kit for a VUE anyway.

V6 Swaybar on a 4Cyl VUE?
I've been searching this on and off, but unable to find an answer.
I have read the 4cyl Vue uses a 24.2mm front bar and the 3.5L uses a 26.4mm front bar (that occasionally breaks??). They have...

Just acquired an '07 2.2/5spd - couple questions
First, this car has hideous chrome/plastic trim on the front/rear bumpers (over the black areas), on the rear hatch, and on the roof racks. How difficult is this to remove? I hear the rear hatch...

Re: Greenline Reliability Consensus?
Thanks. Hybrids in general do not scare me (this is replacing an '02 Prius). They are pretty easy to work on, and in the case of the Prius, rock solid reliable. Was just curious about the GM...

Greenline Reliability Consensus?
We are eyeing some VUEs currently. Several of them are Greenline, which I like for the larger engine & better mileage.
Is there any reason to be concerned with reliability of the Hybrid model...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)
Well, this problem has resurfaced. It's been just about 10K miles. Is there something that would be causing this?
I need a good reason to keep this car vs. trade it in on a 2G Prius.

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)
For what its worth:
I did not blow it off, I ended up replacing it, right?
Also, tension was still very good - definitely on par with what I replaced it with. Something else up with it I...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)
For future reference, this was the tensioner. I was able to track it down by doing the following (thanks Jon):
Yank emergency brake, chock wheel (if you are smart - have someone sit in the car...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)
Because the A/C can load the engine at idle RPM. Nothing else can, except maybe alternator or p/s... both of which are also on the accessory drive, so again hard to distinguish between chain and...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)
The problem is
A) According to other sources, a/c on is one of the conditions the timing chain makes noise. So on/noise off/silent doesn't isolate the compressor.
B) I just replaced the...

Re: Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)
Belt tension is adequate.
Definitely not a worn top mount. I've broken my fair share of these, and never heard one make a noise like this. Mine is in pretty good condition.
My only concern is...

Rattle @ idle only under load (A/C)
