Had new CVT put in at 60,000, that failed at 90,000. Finally had a CVT not built in Hungry put in in 2013, still running strong. Have always...

Re: Correct part verification

Looks good. Apps mention CVT, which I have (on the third one!) 2.2L 4cy.
Think that's it. Thanks.

Correct part verification

Hi everyone:
My Saturn is a 2003 VUE, 4cy/AWD. The engine cradle (front subframe) is just about rusted thru. My mechanic, who does about 75 engine cradle replacements a year, told me he'd do it for...

Re: High RPM at startup

Thanks for the replies, I will try that out. They also performed an induction service, if that adds anything to the discussion.

High RPM at startup

Have an '03 VUE, 4cylinders, 106,000 miles, no previous engine problems. Had new plugs installed 2 weeks ago, was still on original set. Starting 3 days ago, on cold start engine has noticably louder...

Thanks for letting me know.

Have I got the manual right?

2003 4 cylinder AWD Vue with 105K. Went thru the owner's manual multiple times. Cannot find any direction to replace the timing belt, even out to 180K.
Yes, inspection is mentioned, but no outright...

Re: Cool Garage?

Correction, plasma puts out its own light. Don't know about how cold affects it, but a Google searh should result in lots of hits.

Today's Saturn news

How come there's nothing in this 08 VUE section about the Penske deal falling thru and GM announcing Saturn is done?

Re: Too bad for Saturn :(

I'm sad too. But, to be honest, the 2010 Equinox, to me, is what the VUE would have looked like if Saturn hadn't rebadged the Opel Astra. My next vehicle will be a 'Nox.

GM to sell Saturn to Penske

Roger Penske is in talks with GM to purchase Saturn. Google it, it's in all the news media.

Re: 2003 VUE vibration

Turns out it was the two wheel bearings, plus a center bearing due to the all wheel drive. Saturn quoted me $1500 to have it done, but offered to
bring labor down to $75 an hour from the usual...

Re: 2003 VUE vibration

Thanks for your replies. Got brand new tires last July, were spin balanced.
I would assume at 80K the wheel bearings could indeed be going. Anyone know how much new bearings tend to cost?

2003 VUE vibration

This just started. I'm getting a noticable vibration when inside a very specific band of speed. Between 46 and 52 mph I can hear and feel I guess you'd say a "low frequency" vibration that sounds...

Re: When do most change their oil?

I suspect my take on this is shared by a lot of car owners these days. I used to change my oil every three thousand miles without fail. However, since 2000 the quality of the additive packages the...

Re: Giving credit where it's due.

You guys are so right on with your comments. One other thing. I don't know what else they did, but the engine is sounding, I'd say, 75% quieter than before. Nothing's on the invoice except or tranny...

Giving credit where it's due.

Over the years, there's been a lot of positive and very much negative response to Saturn's various service departments at their dealers. I'd like to share a positive experience I had at Saturn of...

Re: Stock Bridgestone Tires

I still have my origional Bridgestone's on by '03 VUE, manufactured in Aug 2002. Never had a flat and the tread goes to Abe's nose when I do the penny test. Just passed 68K. Tires got me thru this...

Re: Would someone like to take a stab at this?

Well, I took the VUE in today and they could not find anything! When I told the tech the symptoms, he said it sounded a lot like a water pump just beginning to fail and leaking a small amount of...
