Re: Needing Fuel Tank Shield

Mine looks similar but remains on the car. Still passes NYS vehicle inspection so my guess is as long as the plastic fuel tank remains intact, the shield is just a cover. I removed my muffler heat...

Re: Surge tank is problematic

Your choice as linked or just a Stant 14279 thermostat. Thermostat housings are reusable. Be sure the correct coolant sensor is brass and not the plastic one.

Re: Right Side Drive Axle Seal.

Google cv axle seal images. You're likely to see many. Descriptions may explain a double seal with a garter spring. The spring you found is probably from the damaged seal losing its inner seal and...

Re: Surge tank is problematic

SIRPAULGERMAN, not mentioning which car is overheating delays giving correct replies.

Is this problem with your '01? If it is, remove and examine the coolant sensor. It may be the original...

Re: Manual Fan Switch

Unless you're overheating and see coolant steaming, you may be overly concerned. Presuming the cooling system is working as designed, the two wire coolant sensor is the flat nosed brass one, t-stat...

Re: Surge tank is problematic

Thin or thick, how does that explain coolant leaving out the top of the cap? If the container didn't burst from extreme pressures, its not the tank.

Unless you can show temperatures are well above...

Re: Surge tank is problematic

Either you're losing coolant from the coolant container, cap or elsewhere. Initial posts are about the coolant container and cap and now coolant leaking elsewhere.........

At what temperature does...

Re: Camshaft position sensor test

And to add more confusion than necessary, since you measured 4vdc on the signal wire of your cam sensor, that is correct. I never question wiring diagrams, assuming they're correct, until someone...

Re: [2001 L300] - Easiest way to tap into true ignition safely; anyone?

When you state starter wiring, are you describing the ignition switch wiring?

I'm a little confused as wiring diagrams show more than three wires to the ignition switch. I'm looking over wiring...

Re: Manual Fan Switch

^ There's only one problem - if ac is dead, as in no compressor operation, the pressure sensor most likely detected a loss of refrigerant and disables compressor operation. When this occurs, the pcm...

Re: [2001 L300] - Easiest way to tap into true ignition safely; anyone?

Leather seats? This is new info I'm not aware of. With two seat heaters, there should be at least two or three orange wires in the ignition switch harness. The two orange wires shown in the drawing...
