Re: Failing alternator?

if you have that battery load tested after the slow charge you will find out for sure if it isbad or not. most places will load test it for free.

Re: Electrical/fuse question

my fellow Louisianaian, i'd say you answered your own question. you didn't state the wattage rating of your inverter. you may just have to wire it up, with an inline fuse of course, directly to the...

a few years back i fixed a crack in a plastic tank radiator with a 220 watt soldering iron. just melted it back together and it held fine for the remaining year i had the car.

Re: Air box sitting over the radiator?

i don't know if it's the same as my '93 but, they put the IAT in that piece right near the end that goes in the airbox. if it is, you'll have to relocate that IAT.

Re: 98 SL Remove Door Panel

if it's like my '93 sl2, you won't see much of the window regulator or motor by taking off the inner panel. you'll have to take the outer door skin off for that.

Re: A/C quit working

you may not need a new compressor. you need to get some dye int he system to try and find the leak. it may be as simple as a bad oring on one of the fittings. worst case, the evaporator coil is...

Re: Is my Thermostat broken ?

from what you describe is happening with your old thermostat, it sounds like it was/ is stuck open. they can do that and it will not let your engine warm up properly. the temp gage reading just below...

Re: 94 saturn sc2 weird sound

IAT is not the same as the ECTS. the IAT(Incoming Air Temp) sensor, at least on my '93 is in the snorkel that runs across the top of the radiator into the airbox. the IAT is on the bottom of that...

Re: Is NGK 7055 the right spark plug for 2001 SL1

it will hurt mileage by keeping the fuel mixture richer longer than it needs to be. and eventually it will send your catcon to an early grave. when the O2 sensor in my sons '93 sl2 died his avg...

Re: Is NGK 7055 the right spark plug for 2001 SL1

always check the manufacturer's gap setting before installing new plugs. that way you don't have to worry if someone else did it correctly.

Re: Another A/C mystery

looks like you're low on freon. there is a low pressure cutoff switch that will not allow the compressor to engage when the refridgerant is below a preset level/ pressure. you need to get some gages...
