Alignment with lowering springs

I ordered the Megan springs for the RL as the OEM suspension is garbage at this point in its life. Can anyone confirm if you can simply align the car to OE specs or if its necessary to slot the...

I just ordered a set from Import Replacement Parts for $143 and just got the shipping confirmation. Call them up and see if they have anymore in stock.

Re: '00 SL1 LS4 V8 Sleeper Project

Well I'm impressed this thing exists. Good job.

I watched the Foxbody race video and laughed at how much the thing squats under acceleration.

Keep up the good work.

Re: SC2 top end mods for fuel economy

I didn't see that was from Canuckistan.

My PR was 53.5 going 50-55 through Iowa.
If he's doing imperial gallons then its a 20% increase [64ish mpg]

But the point is his figure isn't really...

Re: SC2 top end mods for fuel economy

Because the rings are the cause of the oil consumption. Anything short of installing new rings is just a waste of time.

You could do a quick and dirty rebuild, new rings & a quick cylinder hone...

Re: cylinder head modification ideas

Source yourself a 1st gen, 5bolt head with Flat Face valves and get yourself a header.

If you can find one in the junkyard with the valve cover still on, pull it, lap the valves, maybe change the...

Steering Column/Rack swap

Hey guys, I'll be looking to switch over to a 3rd gen steering wheel in my 99 SL2. A question I have:

Will a 3rd generation airbag be compatible with the connector/system in the 99?

Re: Front caliper drag reduction clips mod

The rolling radius of the tires are roughly 300mm.

R_rolling = 300Nm
2Nm * 4 wheels = 8 Nm
8Nm / .3m = 27N

27 newtons is not much of a reduction in the vehicles RR on the highway. Also, we...

Re: SL1 hyPer miler

As usual, just ignore shocktop.
Shifting at low engine RPMs is a good method for increasing FE.
As engine speed increases, the drag from all the internal losses do as well [piston ring...

Re: Lighter pannels

Like everyone else is saying, there are loads of other things to remove that will be much more beneficial and cost effective than dealing with replacing already light panels.

Re: 01SC2...Car lost all gears...middle of busy highway...

A replacement transmission is in order. Also if the axle looks like it could be damaged, might as well replace it. However if the boot isn't ripped and it moves around smoothly, it should be fine.

Re: transmission slipping in 3rd gear and up

So with the clutch pedal all the way out, it only slips in 3rd - 5th, not in 1st and 2nd?

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

On the issue of the clicking, my perfection clutch hydros made...
