Re: 2008 Vue with Bad Battery?

A 2017 battery with a 3yr warranty may be on its last legs. The best way to determine if the battery is on its way out is by auto parts store testing. Most auto stores selling batteries should have...

Re: 2000 LS 2.2L Instrument cluster

You may have one or two problems with the check engine and security indicators on. A reader should be able to decode the cel but may not decode Passlock security errors. Most cel codes are emissions...

Re: Steerin wheel locked?

I meant telescoping as you put it. My bad for suggesting up and down as in adjusting steering wheel height to accommodate drivers of different height.

Re: 2008 3.6 V6 Throttle body/MAF cleaning

Well, unless your owner's manual has info on cleaning throttle bodies, I'm assuming electric throttle bodies share similar configurations for servicing at home without requiring training or licensing...

Re: 2.2L Tuning who needs it please come in!

Ionben570, are you aware of asking questions in a thread started in '06, 14 years ago that hasn't been answered at all? All idle speculation. The 2.2L GM ecotec engine is used in several models. None...

Re: Won't Start after Clutch Replacement... Help!

While suspecting lack of spark, did you check for injector operation via spark plug removal and examining them for wet fuel? Fuel pressure and fuel spraying out the fuel test valve verfies pump...

Re: Running hotter after tune up

You'd definitely notice a colder running t-stat if you're in the snow belt as the majority of S-series owners complained of a lack of heat. Once the t-stat was replaced, complaints of too much heat...

Re: Another AC issue. Expansion valve stuck open???

Although I am not an expert on ac systems, I define damaged, broken parts as either electrically measured or visual. While not a long time member here, I don't recall anyone in these forums showing a...

Re: VIDEO: Sweet smell/white vapor/coolant loss

A general rule about cooling system hoses is examining hose coupling to fittings. If the coolant hose bulges to a higher diameter than the clamp, the hose has deteriorated and should be replaced.

Does the steering column shifting up and down interfere with the steering column lock? Are they related or two separate issues?

Re: Huge headache

Emissions and shift parameters are erased when battery power is removed. The pcm retains default EFI programs. Whether power or a reader reset is performed, this effectively forces the pcm to relearn...

Re: New owner of a 2002 LW300

I described the two adjustable idlers as fixed as once each one is adjusted to take out slack, they're fixed in place. However the third idler is if I recall correctly, the spring loaded one that's...

Re: New owner of a 2002 LW300

There are threads within these forums with snapshots of timing belt procedures. If I recall, one or two are fixed tensioners and the third one is spring loaded to allow the timing belt some slack...

Re: Coolant Temp

I think you're engine is fine. The gauge needle between the 1/4 and 1/2 marks is the range for a good t-stat (between 185F-200F).

Re: Running hotter after tune up

You might be one of a few with a t-stat failing hot. As mentioned, the majority of t-stats failing run cooler with the ecm/pcm generating P0128. Replacing the t-stat corrects the problem. Yours was...
