Re: 05 Vue Red Line AWD 1 owner 66k miles

I believe this car is worth more than your edmunds, nada, and kbb say. It needs nothing at this time and with little maintenance could run for a very long time. I wouldn't buy a Northern or a beach...

Re: cooling fan runs with engine off.

Happens here in the summer. Not all the time, but more often. I let it go and it always goes off by itself.

Re: transmission/transfer case fluid change

Transfer case fluid was clean and tranny fluid looked better @ 2nd drain. Will get to rdm on third tranny drain. Awd rarely engaged down here. Only happens if you get on it while the road is wet.

Re: transmission/transfer case fluid change

I found the answer....about 100 miles

Just hit 50k. Did the first drain and refill. Atf was a little dirty, but not spent and had some crud on the drain plug. Will do rdm and transfer case with...

Re: AC Issues with warm air at idle

Replaced compressor. No more idle warm air issues. Summer in Florida requires no guessing as to what works in the ac dept.(at least for our 05).

Re: Do AC Compressors go bad?

$1350. including tax.

I know, I know. I guess that courtesy car at the dealer isn't free. Problem is that I haven't found a convenient and trustworthy mechanic yet.

With only 45k and plans...

Re: Do AC Compressors go bad?

Took it to a shop before the posts and this is what they came up with: needs a/c compressor, dryer condenser and expansion valve. They said they added a small amount of r134 (.50?) and did a pressure...

Re: Do AC Compressors go bad?

My 05 has under 50k and it's getting warm inside at the stoplights.
Any advice on what to look for in a shop? How much of the a/c system should be replaced? Expected cost? Thanks.
