Re: Astra roll call!

Sounds like GM's getting the euro-import market's attention finally. Welcome JFRunner, welcome to the Saturn fold, would you like some kool-aid?

Re: Astra doesn't seem to get a break...

As a previous owner of an L300 I'm going to have to disagree with you when it comes to comfort vs the Astra. I liked my L300 but the interior was cheap, the Astra's interior is a lot nicer. As far...

Re: Out with the old in with the new.........

Congrats, looks awesome! Astras look sweet in red but my VUE I had prior was red so I opted for the dark blue out of support of my Blue Jackets. Yours works well if you're a Flames fan. :)

Re: Brake dust?

Ugh, absolutely. I had a hellish time keeping my L300's wheels looking anything less than terrible.

Re: Brake dust?

I have 2008 XR 5-door, haven't noticed a big difference between front or rear but I have noticed that it generates quite a bit of brake dust. Then again, I might just be sensitive because I want to...

Re: IPod input?

Would it make any sort of sense to do a group order for that Vauxhall part? If I knew that this would work in my XR with a CD30, I'd call up UK in a heartbeat.

Re: Tim Horton's Double-Double on my Carpet!

I have been lucky so far. The Astra cup-holder seems to have a pretty good grip on my daily double-double.

Re: Type of Fuel You are Using?

Shell 87 octane. I'm only on my 3rd tank and there's a Shell very nearby so its been easy to keep it consistent.

Re: Challenges/frustrations with your Astra

I'm getting 35% better fuel economy right now than I had with my VUE and I'm still a bit rusty on the manual. Prior to the Astra my last manual was over 8 years ago. I didn't expect 40mpg or...

Challenges/frustrations with your Astra

Let's keep this from turning completely into a gripe-fest but face it, no car is perfect. What are your top 3 frustrations with your Astra? Also, to make this thread constructive, what do you plan...

Re: Upgraded my radio

Looks frikkin awesome! I'm starting to get the aftermarket audio itch for my Astra but REALLY dont want to mess up the look of the interior. Want to do this to mine? :)

Re: Astra MPG observed

I'm still under 500 miles and only on my 2nd tank but my average so far this tank is 27.0 mpg. I'd love to break that 30mpg mark (I'm a dork like that), maybe next tank.

Re: Astra MPG observed

Right, I was aware of that and it is definitely VERY early in my car's life I was just wonder what kind of numbers people who have theirs broken in are getting.

Thanks for all the feedback so far,...

Astra MPG observed

Just filled my tank for the first time and after all was said and done, my average fuel consumption was about 26mpg. That said, I haven't driven manual regularly in a while so I'm sure operator...

Re: Astra A/C

I noticed it for the first time while going through a drive through. Didn't actually notice it until I turned off the A/C and it got quieter. Doesn't really affect me with the windows down so no...

Re: Cheap and dirty solution for audio jack

6 x 700MB = 4.2 GB.

My iPod Touch = 16 GB

My iPod automagically syncs all my podcasts, playlists, etc whenever it charges, has 4x the capacity and is less wasteful in the sense that if I want...

Re: Finally saw another Astra

Saw a red XE on the road today. Was driving through a major shopping area of town (Easton) and getting lots of looks. Especially from other Saturn owners (IONs and VUEs mostly).

Re: Picked up a 2008 Astra XR yesterday

Just got home from returning the iTrip (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itripse) to the Apple store. It was horrible. I used their 'frequency finding technology' which is just a list of...

Re: Picked up a 2008 Astra XR yesterday

Thanks guys. @gpsxplr, I just dropped by the Apple store and picked up an FM modulator of some sort, it brags that it will check the radio frequencies in the area and pick the one with the least...

Re: Debadged, now what?

I'd say Opel. I saw Opel stuff all over my documentation yesterday when I bought it although I do think I heard someone mention seeing references to Vauxhall on the key fobs.

Picked up a 2008 Astra XR yesterday

I'm the new owner of a 2008 Astra XR 5-door. Blue 5-speed with Stabilitrak. My salesperson was actually Al Clapsaddle of SaturnFans fame. I can't recommend him highly enough if you're ever in the...

Re: Tire Update: Kuhmo Solus KH16

Re: Picked up some 'Hos (tires)

Good to hear, I might be replacing mine soon (if I can find some money). After less then 27,000 miles these Duelers are f'n worthless in the rain. I hydroplaned 3 times while driving to work on...
