Re: head gasket fix

No oil in the coolant so that's lucky at least.

head gasket fix

I did an oil change and my oil had a small amount of bubbles around the surface, and it was pinkish. This did coincide with a reduction in coolant. I take it I need to look at getting a head...

The other check engine light

Not the one affiliated with the emissions systems, the one that looks like a whole car with a wrench inside it. It came on while driving for no apparent reason. It went away on stopping/restarting...

Re: Car stalls

Pressure came back at 38 or 39. I'll swap out the fuel filter and hopefully that will be the end of it.

Re: Car stalls

Never done a fuel pressure test, I imagine there's a schraeder valve on the fuel line? Is this a gauge I can bum off Advanced O'ReilloZone?

Re: Car stalls

That would explain why I can't find an idle air control valve on Rock :P

110k miles, I'm good about maintenance. Had it for one year.

Fuel filter is sitting on the front seat. I hadn't...

Re: Car stalls

Good point. I'll swap the filter.

The 05's only have the 6 cylinder, I thought? The car is listed in my profile.

Car stalls

My 05 L300 had a couple instances of stalling when pulling up to stop lights. It would start right back up. I replaced the battery since the battery was old anyway, and it didn't happen for a...

Re: 05 L300 ECM codes

Thanks for the info.

Yeah I know about those, I replaced the assembly on my daughter's last year. I figure that's the most likely place to begin, I know it was also highly rusted on my car. ...

Re: 05 L300 ECM codes

Thanks for the info. My mistake, the first code was P0442, but I'm assuming that doesn't really change the calculus any.

05 L300 ECM codes

Getting a P0440 and a P0455. Minor loss of fuel economy and some slight stumbling on acceleration (not consistent). Any ideas? I'm gonna start by looking for damage to the fuel filler neck...

Re: Keep blowing fuse to fuel pump

Yeah I made sure to hook it back where it goes, and to put a zip tie on it so it can't fall on the exhaust again if it comes loose.

Re: Keep blowing fuse to fuel pump

After looking at it more closely, it is only a patch of insulation on two wires that melted off, the connector is only damaged around the edge. I put some of that liquid electrical tape on it and...

Re: Keep blowing fuse to fuel pump

Maybe.

I'm just gonna wire around the melted plug. Can I get by with butt connectors and heat shrink tubes? My soldering iron sucks.

Re: Keep blowing fuse to fuel pump

The red circle. Its dark but you can see a couple of the wires are missing insulation (some stranded copper peeking through) and the connector is a bit melted at the corner. It is part of the same...

Re: Keep blowing fuse to fuel pump

Yeah anything for that whole area of the rear crossbeam, back by the ABS cables and their connectors. I'm sorry I can't be more specific, I'm not sure the names and such.

Re: Keep blowing fuse to fuel pump

I think I may have found the problem. There's a pigtail harness in the back that flopped against the exhaust pipe and melted the insulation off a couple wires. I'm betting they go to the fuel pump...

Keep blowing fuse to fuel pump

Hi there,

My daughter (2002 L200, 2.2) drove through a big ass puddle a few days ago and somehow blew the 15 amp fuse to the fuel pump circled in red in the attached image. I replaced it, drove...

Re: ABS issue

No check engine light. The O'Reilly guys said sometimes they can pull those. I'm guessing no in this case.

Re: ABS issue

So my daughter got the code read at O'Reilly and they handed back a printout detailing P0705- Transaxle range switch circuit. I have no idea how this could be on the ABS circuit so I'm going to...

Re: Engine/trans mounts

I popped the hood and could get a pretty good view of it. I can get somebody else to assist and I'll try to clarify.

The cradle looks fine, actually. It has some rust spots on it but they've...

Re: Leaking TRANSMISSION FLUID.

I actually just went through this on my daughter's L200. The transmission oil cooler lines do plug right into the radiator on that side, underneath the coolant hose. Doesn't help that the coolant...

Engine/trans mounts

When I start the L300, the engine visibly shakes more than it should (with an almost loose/floppy looking shake to it). When shifting to R and D it moves more than I would like, but it's not...

Power steering hose

Hey there,

Got a leak on the lower hose running to the rack on my L300. The upper hose doesn't look like it is much longer for the world so I'm just gonna change them both out. Does the brand of...
