Re: Uh oh. [Dead 02 SL2Aut]

No idea what they quoted her on, but it seemed way too high.

Re: Uh oh. [Dead 02 SL2Aut]

Oil was always checked, I made sure she was as hardcore about it as I was. :arr:

If that's the case, well damn. Time to throw a junkyard engine in 'er.

Oh Starr Auto..!

Uh oh. [Dead 02 SL2Aut]

I've got another dead Saturn in the family.
This one's an odd one, though.

Vehicle: 02 SL2 Automatic, fluids changed regularly, valve body failure at 60k (replaced), currently at 99k, no other...

Re: gas tank

From what I've come to understand, the ION/Cavalier 4 lug wheels are a bit different on the hub size, and a bit of work is needed to get them on, so I'd stick with what Saturn handed out. :3

Re: gas tank

Eee.
Well, if you can, find either sawtooth or teardrop 15"s, if not pick up some 14"s and find the "folded and fastened" style hubcaps. :D Personal opinion, those look best on the 1st gens.

Re: gas tank

Yeah, sounds like an after-market job. I've never heard of 15" steels with caps.. That's new to me.

Re: gas tank

More than likely either dealer-added, or after purchase added, since SL/S*1s came with 14" steel/hubcaps.

Re: gas tank

You're my twin. :D I want to find a '95 SW2 so badly, since I came to love the 2nd gen interior, and the 1st gen exterior was just so.. Ahead of it's time, I guess.

But hey, lousy cupholders are...

Re: gas tank

Oh that's right! '95 has the updated interior. Sorry! (I'm getting used to the 1st gen interior, y'know; no cupholders, rubbish stereo, etc..)

Re: Having second thoughts

Having second thoughts or even buyer's remorse is nothing uncommon. I had it when I bought my first Saturn, and I had it today with the second addition. Yeah, these cars are beat into the ground...

Re: gas tank

Lolz.

I'd just start filling up when your needle hits the yellow checkerboard. I do it airline-style, taking only the fuel I need. Sometimes this is a bad thing, sometimes a good thing. :hmpf:

Re: sl2 colors?

Rent a tent! Or even take it to like an automotive vo-tech school, let them paint it. Free labor, all you pay is the cost of paint. :D

Re: sl2 colors?

Hey, we have the same color car! :D
You can do this one of two ways:
1) Scratch up your purdy grey bumper and get some blue/black paint from the dealer/parts store, or..
2) Contact a place like...

Re: gas tank

There's a risk of damage to the fuel pump, which I'm just saying now, is a pain in the anus to replace. :|

Re: gas tank

If you're going for a weight-saving advantage, take an empty can. If I were doing this, I'd have that can full. :arr:

Re: I just can't resist a bargain.

Springy? The only reason I called 'er that was because she came from Spring Hill. Unoriginal, I know. :p

As for the other two nitwit twins, they're happily named in my siggy.

So I'm guessing...

To be honest, I'd take a 2 gallon can with you, just in case.

I just can't resist a bargain.

Hi again! It's good to be home. :D
After the death of Springy, I ended up buying an '01 Ford P71 Crown Vic, which is serving it's purpose quite well.. But anyhow, I ended up passing the same car lot...
