Re: Wires melting into the battery

The fuse block end is decidedly ambient temp, but the wire runs under and is pinned in under the fuse block. The Haynes manual does not tell you how to take the octopus out of the block, so we can't...

Wires melting into the battery

A few weeks ago my son's Vue broke the positive wire at the terminal. Replaced the wire ends, new clamp, back up and running. The other day it stopped running while he was driving, just died going...

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

Ok then I'm in the right place. 6 hours later I gave up for the night. My neighbor reconnected the battery and crossed the posts on the starter and it didn't react. We took that harness loose in the...

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

So it seems the 2 bolts I took out aren't the right ones, and now one has dropped into the motor and I can't find it.

Just because I'm not certain based on the description from the Haynes manual,...

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

And interestingly enough, the Haynes manual shows the mounting bolts going parallel, not perpendicular

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

Thanks for the link, but the problem is getting to it. All the radiator hoses and wiring harnesses are in the way. Can't get a wrench or socket into it.

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

Ok, plugs are out. Since it won't crank, how do I tell if there is water in the cylinders?

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

I'm at the point I'm ready to throw wrenches and my neighbors are looking for the cussing. How do you get the starter out? I can't get my hands in there. Battery is out, solenoid 1 nut off and...

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

As a side note, none of the relays are marked starter.

Re: 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

Ok sorry for the delay, long day yesterday. Yes, it still clicks when the key is turned while in neutral. Taking the plugs out won't help when the starter doesn't spin. Got a errand to run then I'm...

Wrench 07 V6 got wet, won't attempt to start

So I'm sure you've seen our drizzles in Texas the last few days. My son pulled out into the street behind his gf in her Lumina that made it trough the water and he started sputtering and tried to get...

Re: 2004 Saturn Vue AC Compressor Replacement 3.5

Re: 2004 Saturn Vue AC Compressor Replacement 3.5

Well now I know where the rest of the components are but getting the driver headlight out on an 07 is tricky. Only 07-specific instructions I've found say to take out the torx screws but there aren't...

Re: 2004 Saturn Vue AC Compressor Replacement 3.5

far2grumpy: thanks a lot for that, never would have found it.

As far as tubes, the one that goes into and out of the compressor goes straight into the radiator when I follow it with my hand. It...

Re: 2004 Saturn Vue AC Compressor Replacement 3.5

I know I posted a reply with a link to where I bought my rebuilt one on ebay...

Re: 2004 Saturn Vue AC Compressor Replacement 3.5

I'm doing it right now and don't know what all that is, either. At least I figured out we don't have to take the motor out. :D

Re: Can I bypass the AC compressor on my serpentine belt?

I don't have the old belt, it burned off somewhere. I have a new one, but haven't put it on yet. The tensioner looks like it will get in the way of a 2 pulley system.

Can I bypass the AC compressor on my serpentine belt?

My son has a 2007 Vue V6. His AC compressor seized and burnt thru the belt. Until he can afford a compressor, can I get a shorter belt and just not go around the compressor without creating any...
