Re: Extremely hesitant and no power

Although platinum plugs should not have been in there, those plugs do not show any signs of being burnt. Sooty yes, burnt, no.

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

Very clean 97 SW2. No shot of odometer, owner says 117862 miles.
Headliner seems tight!
At $2200, its more pricey than I can do, but as a southern car....probably rust free.

Re: '99 SL1 - Poor acceleration, drop in mileage, rough shifting, and 12 codes!

How many miles on the car, how long have you owned/driven it?
An SL1 should be well over 40 mpg on the open road.
Has anyone erased the codes and if so, do they return?
I don't see how a CPS code...

Re: Scraping noise in 99 sl engine

Er, how did you 'tighten up' the belt tensioner?

Usually, they are cheap enough that they are just out right replaced, not repaired or 'tightened up'.

There are several fans here who have...

Re: transmission fluid change on 2002 SL2 automatic

Like I and others have said:

"Drain it all out fast.
The Saturn S series must only use Dexron III compatible. nothing else."

Re: Extremely hesitant and no power

None of my 4 vehicles exhibits any cat issues (and never have) however, based on online reviews, I would use it this product if needed. $25 is worth the gamble.

Re: transmission fluid change on 2002 SL2 automatic

Drain it all out fast.
The Saturn S series must only use Dexron III compatible. nothing else.

Being that it's now mixed up and into the torque converter, unless you remove the trans hard lines...

Re: '97 SW1 A/C doesn't do anything

Have you verified that the AC pressure switch has voltage through it whenever the ac button is engaged AND the dash blower switch is turned up?
The pressure switch is on under the hood on the rear...

Re: Oil change - Added too much...drain some?

Mistakes can happen, but my DOHC usually used 4.5 quarts, and since it would lose oil on a regular basis, I just would ignore it and just beware next time to put in a little less.
But, most times I...

Re: A/C help in the Cincinnati area?

Since your going to Harbor Freight, look at their AC vacuum pumps.
You need to pull a vacuum on the system that holds, overnight at the least.

Pulling a vacuum means negative pressure numbers...

Re: Radiator fan squealing

Begging your pardon, but oiling the shaft is a good, safe and reliable fix for any ac or dc fan that has been compromised by dirt/grit and begins squealing. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it,...

Re: Extremely Poor Gas Mileage 1995 SW2 Auto

Highmile, 18.5 even in city driving is awful, and not right.
Specs are 26 city, 37 highway and 30 combo.
Something is seriously wrong with this car, or the OP is driving in 1, not D.

Re: Radiator fan squealing

It could be oiled, but I would blow away any dirt/dust that might be found there first. The motor shaft housing is probably worn and causing a wobble upon startup. I replaced mine once, but it had an...

Re: Coolant leak in 99 SL

If its hitting the serpentine belt it's gotta be from the water pump .. surely a liter a minute would produce a huge puddle jut under that area on the passenger side of the engine, Shine a light down...

Re: sc2 wont start, how to jump starter from relay?

If you have the clutch pedal switch bypassed, then all you need to do (besides have the transmission in NEUTRAL and Parking brake set) is to lay an insulated screwdriver across the starter lugs....

I'd believe a bad catalytic converter can cause a reduction in power and acceleration as well as fuel economy, but a misfire? No, more likely a misfire would eventually cause the converter to go, not...

Re: Bad gas?

Does the light illuminate when the ignition key is just turned to RUN position?
IDK, maybe top cover gasket leakage or coils need wire brushing / or replacement.

Re: SC-2 3 door coupe seat belt problems

I forgot the most obvious one, if these web belts are nylon, a light lick from a lighter would singe/seal the raveled edge.
Don't let it burn or there will be-- r e a l -- troubles.

Especially to compare warming up and stretching before doing deep exercise....it is obvious that equipment does not need to do stretching and limbering up stuff....like the...
