Re: Hesitation and flashing SES with no DTCs

Flashing SES is for code P0300, cylinder misfire - random. as Nuc stated, change plugs, wires, AND I recommend replacing your ICM and coil pack assembly as well. ICM is likely toast. Burnt valve will...

Re: high idle and negative fuel trim

Are you sure that you are reading negative psi, and not vacuum? With the intake runners and camshaft profile on the DOHCs, you should have around -9/-10psi of manifold pressure at idle, or about 16"...

Re: Fuel Line Leak, 95SC2 -- need parts / repair advice

1991-1996 SC2 fuel lines should all interchange, as there was no changes made to the routing of the fuel lines, or the wheelbase. Great find on this, as a JY is the only other place to get...

Re: Cylider head rebuild

As a direct swap, you can only use a 1999 engine assembly. 2000-2002 engines will require changing the manifolds, and some of the sensors. 1999 was the first year for the "narrow port" head casting,...

Re: Freakin reverse slam

Look, I can fully understand your frustrations with this, because I had a delayed & slamming reverse symptom when I got my SC2 @ 163,082 miles. This doesn't mean you can treat Billr, or any of these...

Re: Freakin reverse slam

WHO are you buying these VBs from?

Reverse requires the highest line pressure to engage the clutch. When the fluid is cold, the oil is thicker and viscosity is higher, which translates to higher...

Re: 99 SL1 P0133 and P0340

Pull the O2 sensor and drive the car a few miles to see what it does. It will be loud, but can uncover the suggestion of the plugged cat converter.

Otherwise, you need to replace the O2 sensor,...

Re: End of the line for Junk Yards

Thanks to the "reliable" ecotec and 3.0L Catera boat anchor they used in those models, this would be why wrecking yards are full of L-Series and Ions

Re: 99 SL1 P0133 and P0340

https://www.obd-codes.com/p0133

A code P0133 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
•The oxygen sensor is faulty
•The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
•There is an...

Re: Freakin reverse slam

Ken Partin only does the pressure regulator valve upgrade. The reverse symptoms of delaying and slamming in reverse is a worn boost pressure valve.

Contact Special Forces via PM and order HIS VB....

Happy Re: End of the line for Junk Yards

Thanks to O'Bailout giving Chrysler a bunch of our tax dollars, our U.S wrecking yards will continue to thrive as long as people keep buying Chrysler junk heaps because they "look" pretty and have...

Re: Well darn, my '99 SL2 laps oil like a BMW

I think it has to do with seating the rings and break-in period. The shop told me the honing process will seat the rings, fine. I have read a few articles about using incorrect oil on rebuilt engines...

Re: Seat Belt Compatibility Coupe/Sedan

No, they will not interchange, because the coupe has a height adjuster for the upper loop, that sedan models do not have.

Re: Freakin reverse slam

Get a VB from Special Forces(a member here), or Central Valve bodies. I had a delayed, slamming reverse. SF VB corrected that and the upshifts were seamless, even in performance mode.

Re: SC with blown engine

And as far as the automatic, the very first YouTube video of a Saturn owner having reached 1,000,000 miles is BOTH a 1993 SL2 and an automatic.

Re: SC with blown engine

Put the replacement engine into the car. www.car-part.com can be used to source a used engine from a wrecking yard.

1996-1998 engines will NOT work, because they are OBD-II and lack the second...

It is understandable to think the car might be unreliable or question your own judgment having looked the car over, because like you said, we are not omniscient creatures.

That being said, I have...

Re: 2002 SL1 Engine Noise...TIMING CHAIN???

Does the rattling sound go away, once you rev the engine?

With a worn chain, the rattling occurs because the plastic guides are worn through, which causes vibrations and a few thousandths of...

Re: Windshield wipers are screwey

Welcome to owning a Saturn S-Series. They collect moisture, in the area where the wiper motor is located. The logic board gets corroded, and they have a plethora of symptoms. One motor, on mine,...

Re: 2002 SL 1 Cylinders 1 & 4 no spark

Re: 2002 SL 1 Cylinders 1 & 4 no spark

It sounds like a definite issue with wiring, since compression is good. The injector rail is MPFI, which is "batch-fire". In theory, the injectors do not fire sequentially, like newer cars do.

I...

And you do not have to say that you think BMWs are better quality, in a direct statement.

Your attitude towards the topic and my accurate comments about BMW issues, say it, without you saying it. ...
