Re: Possible 3.6L to 3.5L?

Ah, fair enough. I didn't realize the 08+ had a 3.5L variant. Thanks for clarifying.

Re: Possible 3.6L to 3.5L?

And the 3.5L has a 5 speed auto, not a four speed. The four speed would have been in the 2.2L I4's.

Re: Support for gas springs

I'd second Conemark's response. New struts can be found for $20-30 and are very easy to replace. Makes a world of difference.

I replaced mine a few years ago after getting hit on the head one too...

Re: What year and engine to purchase?

As an owner of the 3.5L V6 Vue, I'd have no problem recommending it. However, you should keep in mind that since they are now an aging group of cars with limited support for spare parts, that does...

Re: 05 to 07 front end conversion is it possible?

Tens of thousands? Who's throwing that much at their Vue?

Yes, the Vue has it's quirks, but so will any older vehicle. I agree that it probably isn't worth the effort of switching out the front...

Re: Removing Driveshaft howto?

Against what joint? If everything else is disconnected, can you just wiggle the shaft and get it to break loose from the cup the CV joint sits in on the front of the shaft? It really shouldn't...

Re: Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) recommendations?

I've been through a couple TPS' since my factory original went bad. The first replacement was a Duralast (6/15) and it only lasted a year. I replaced it with a BWD (6/16) a year ago and it is...

Re: Is the L-Series Really that Bad?

A great statement, and the care of these cars varies from owner to owner. Beyond how well you take care of a car, it will have its own personality (aka issues).

I've had a 96 SL2, 01 L200, and 06...

Re: Brake Rotors

I'd rate them a 10 out of 10. Had them on for a couple years now (I think) and there is no warping and they still haul the Vue to a stop better than the OEM versions.

Re: new to me, 2006 saturn vue 102k miles horrible grinding in rear when AWD is engag

I had a groan in my RDM when the AWD was engaged when I bought my Vue. Doing the fluid change solved the noise. Before you go throwing parts or deleting parts, you may want to have that fluid...

Re: Fueling problem

For what its worth, this process of 'topping off' your fuel tank can cause this issue. You should stop filling your tank when the pump shuts off the first time. Continuing to fill it will cause fuel...

Re: Hi and l200 questions for you

Welcome!

I have an 2001 L200. I love the car. I don't see 28-30, but I do spend a fair bit of time in rush hour traffic doing 10-25 mph. So, I'm usually in the 26-28 MPG.

I am on the original...

Re: How Odd.

That does make you wonder why it was abandoned there. It almost made it to Denver, just another 30-45 min and it would have been here.

Ft. Morgan has a great little airport, but not much else...

Re: Warped Rotors after 30,000 miles

I've had the Max Brakes kit on my 06 Vue for more than a year an 10K miles, and they are still holding up great. After going through a few OEM rotors, this is a welcome change. I'd recommend them but...

Re: is this a good deal?

Ah, great! With it being a "local shop" it can sometimes be a gamble on what their knowledge is for vehicle special needs. Even good local shops make mistakes. Knowing that they are aware it is a...

Re: is this a good deal?

Did they use the Honda DW1 fluid? If not, then you may want to go back and have the tranny drain and refill procedure redone.

Ah ha! Found the part number.

Here is a link to it for a bit cheaper than what you were being quoted (on sale). http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oe-gm/15931793. Clearly the dealer you talked to...

Re: Overheating Vue

Also, look through the grill on the front of the Vue. If you can't see the radiator, then the plastic air guide has fallen in front of the radiator.

The air guide can be seen as part #28 in this...

Re: 03 vue 30 awd AT

I think I paid about $100 for my replacement yolk on my driveshaft when replacing the bearing (I bent mine trying to get it off). I'll have to dig and see if I can find the part number. $165 may feel...

Re: Cooling Fan Runs Constantly 2003 Saturn L200

The fans running on high while the car is on may also be an indicator that there is a pending trouble code. Are there any other strange behaviors of this L200? Do you have a scanner that can pull...

Re: is this a good deal?

My personal oppinon is that this sounds like a pretty good deal. The price is a little high, but then again, for what these little CUV's are 4K isn't that bad.

Add a complete fluid change (oil,...

Re: 911 emergency help!! Sos

I would agree that based on the rust situation, it's time to let this car go. The funding you are asking for is more than the cost of replacement for a similar vehcile.

Consider this L200,...

Re: 2005 Vue FWD 3.5 bearing noise

I know you said you have a FWD Vue, but what you describe is common problem with AWD 3.5 Vue's. You are describing the textbook sound of the center support bearing on the driveshaft. It squeals like...
