Re: Saturn Was Also a Different Kind of Manufacturer

A cooperative relationship between workers and management - that's crazy talk! Almost removes the need for a union. Blasphemy!

Re: TTAC: Chinese "Brilliance" Automaker May Buy Saturn Brand

They're just signing up dealers for Brilliance franchises (or whatever they end up calling themselves in the U.S.), not buying the brand. The dealers will have nothing but history in association...

Re: SaturnFans.com is Now on Facebook

Considering the years and years of customer information is stored electronically, "moving it" is hardly an issue.

Re: Some 2006-07 Saturn Ions Recalled

Have you called the Customer Assistance line? They can find you a shop to do it or you can file a complaint with them. Some way, some how, your warranty work will get done.

Re: Some 2006-07 Saturn Ions Recalled

You most certainly can go to non-Saturn GM dealership for warranty work. It's up to the dealership if they want to do the work, though, like any other service.

Re: SaturnFans.com is Now on Facebook

Rest assured, it isn't stored locally at your dealership. Your data, and millions more MBs, are stored on a server somewhere.

Re: Saturn/Penske deal a farce from the start....Penske had no real plans to buy Satu

US Treasury != SEC. And beyond PR issues (i.e. salary caps, purchases >$100mil), the Treasury is staying out of GMCO's daily operations. There's proof of that. Your conspiracy theory, not so much....

Re: HIR headlight upgrade

I'm confused. Why are the capacitors wired across the circuit instead of inline? My last physics class was about 9 years ago, but I vaguely remember them being wired inline with the electrical load....

Re: General Motors Pulls the Plug on Saturn, Ending Bold, Creative Automotive Experim

And the red-headed step-child is finally euthanized. Congratulations, Chevy. You win. The R&D dollars are all yours now.

Far as I know. Saturn Distribution Corp. was transferred to the new General Motors Company. That would mean GM is still responsible for replacement parts, warranty work, etc., just like Pontiac.

Re: Turbo Kit in devolopment

The connecting rods are forged steel. The main bearing caps, crankshaft, and camshafts are all cast nodular iron.

Re: GM Adds Third Shift at Three Plants

I should hope not. The GM news should then be moved to the Off Topic section.

Unless they owned stock in GM, people who purchased the defunct brands "invested" nothing. They purchased a product,...

Re: Spring Hill Plant Builds 2 Millionth Engine

You're correct. The Gen 1 block of the L61 was lost-foam. The Gen 2 block was upgraded to sand-casting for the LNF and LAF engines. The regular 2.4L is lost-foam cast though. The 2.2L is also...

Re: Spring Hill Plant Builds 2 Millionth Engine

The Family 2 Ecotec engines built in Spring Hill are sand cast, not lost-foam.

Re: who thinks

The LL0 and LK0 wouldn't even qualify for ULEV emissions anymore. They rank as a "2" on the EPA air pollution scale. The ION and ASTRA are a "6". There is nothing worthy of being brought back from...

Re: Cool, "Right to repair" bill in Massachusetts

Most FLAPS can already read OBD codes for you, usually for free. There are also plenty of readers for DIYers to purchase. Where's the travesty?

Re: 4cyl 6 speed

The 4-cyl trans is the 6T40.

To the OP, you're feeling the clutches engage. The 1-2 shift is of a "freewheeling" design (smoother); the rest are clutch-to-clutch. It feels grabby, but it's...

Re: IAA 2009: The new Astra premiere in Frankfurt

The Astra sedan is our small Buick, not the Cruze. There'll be quite a bit of difference, especially in feature content.

Re: Should Saturn Race in a Motorsports Series?

Absolutely not. Autoracing is possibly the most expensive and least productive form of advertising. Put that money into salable product please.
