Re: 2002 SL2 automatic code reader?

Crank position sensors do only one thing (crucial) - its the electronic heart beat of the entire electronic fuel injection system. Unlike diesels requiring nothing more than turning over the engine...

Re: 2002 SL2 automatic code reader?

As you become familiar with this forum, you'll find many answers without too much difficulty. I find it interesting for Honda incompetents never finding out why your '83 CRX refused to start in wet...

Re: Replacement key won't unlock door, but ignition OK!

Having one 'master' key made from GM using VIN info gets back to original keys cut to original locks. The master can be copied anywhere without introducing a worn key making new keys from a worn one....

Re: Fuses

If im not mistaken, the auto industry decided to color code see thru plastic fuses for easier identification of good ones and blown fuses. Each color coincides with fuse amperage. There are oem blade...

Re: Replacement key won't unlock door, but ignition OK!

Invisible fishing line can work if you're clever in concealing it from plain view. I came up with the idea only after your post concerning possible door lock issues. But before getting ahead of...

Re: Does the BCM affect engine operation?

GMs Passlock anti theft program is part of the bcm. The sensors on the ignition lock cylinder sends signals to the bcm determining either a no theft or theft attempt. The bcm communicates to the...

Re: Security systems in 01 and 02 SC2

Third gen S-series adopted Passlock security. The L-series, Vues Aura and Ions have it in one form or another. GM made Passlock and evolved as models changed. Passlock's main feature (adopted due to...

Re: ABS + BRAKE light

No. In general, if neither the abs nor engine light are on, error codes are not stored. This means everything is fine and if any error codes weren't erased via reader reset, ecm/pcm fuse...

Re: 99 SL1 (Auto, SOCH engine) coolant sensor not connected?

I agree with Cheyne. The best way to determine whether or not your engine has the original faulty round nosed sensor is to remove it on a cold engine (very little coolant loss). Compare it to the two...

Re: ABS + BRAKE light

Melissa_M, the first image displays 26 volts ac on the 250 VAC setting. Ignore the '0' before 26. This indicates inexpensive meter programming to suppress zeros before a one thru 9. The second image...

Re: Throttle Problems

StrnWolf, misinformation aside, some basic info is needed to understand how S-series throttle bodies operate and what's needed to maintain factory settings. There's very little info needed to make...

Re: Replacement key won't unlock door, but ignition OK!

Without really knowing (unless the previous owner is asked) if the driver's door lock was replaced, are you certain the door lock won't turn with the ignition key? Lock lube with graphite is...

Re: 1999 DOHC Smoking like crazy

Rotten egg smell? Sulphur in fuel can create a rotten egg smell if the catalytic converter is broken, leaking and not processing 100% of exhaust gases. Rich fuel mixtures after a full warmup may...

Re: Ls2 v6 turning over but not starting

Re: Ls2 v6 turning over but not starting

Re: 2001 LW300 keeps stalling - please help!

Although oil pressure is crucial to engine lubrication, no correlation exists between reduced power mode and oil pressure. Oil pressure is mechanically driven and monitored by the oil pressure...
