Took a road trip about 500 miles each way recently. My wife had been driving the car (02...

Re: How do I safely convert to LED headlights?

Very helpful. Not.

A: Replace your headlights with something brighter. Too bright is not DOT compliant. At least not on-road.

B: Add driving lights (basically...

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2 engine temp. problem?

OK, so we are better off just changing out the thermostat cartridge then. With the little cardboard sleeve cylinder included, that took me about 3 minutes once the metal nipple/flange/carrier was...

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2 engine temp. problem?

That's where the gauge on my 2002 SC2 sits pretty much all the time the car is driving. I have had the 02 a month or so now, and I've never seen it go above this level. Highway driving, stop and go,...

Re: Hello from Wisconsin!

Yep, the original s-series cars were built in TN at Spring Hill. When the s-series was retired, they built Ions and Vues there, as well as the ecotec engines that the new models were equipped with....

Re: OBD II code P0104

Try again. Pull the "ECM B" fuse for a minute or so to clear codes, then get the code scanned again if your service engine light comes on again. There is no such thing as a MAF sensor error on a...

Re: How Saturnalia helped us save $900

don't forget the junkyards here. The design did not change that much over the life cycle of these vehicles. Plus, they are mostly plastic.

Thumbs Up Re: s-series fuel economy

Sweet! I liked the fact that the twin cam had more pep at wide open throttle... I did not know you could simply swap gears or transmissions between engines!
TYVM for that information.

s-series fuel economy

Hi from kentucky! I live near Fort Knox and work in Louisville.

I have had a few saturns over the years, and I love the s-series the best. They just go and go with very little tlc. The 92 s-series...

Re: just bought me a 1992.

99% of all older saturns smoke. The culprit is usually the oil control ring design (not very stiff). Unless you want to change to stiffer rings, just check the oil every time you fill up with gas.
