Re: 07 ION what to watch out for

I doubt that gasket will fix it. DTC P0411 is usually caused by an issue related to the secondary AIR injection pump, check valve, or related plumbing. I've linked a corresponding parts diagram here...

Re: 07 ION what to watch out for

Make sure the A/C and radiator cooling fan work. The AC compressor and cooling fan motors commonly fail. Listen for clunks from the front end (lower control arm bushings) and rear end (rear axle...

Re: Which Transmission Fluid? 2005 AWD VUE

You need Honda DW1 fluid (p/n 08200-9008). Your transmission is a traditional 5-speed automatic.

Re: 2006 Vue Drivers Window Won't Work

Unfortunately, in this case you can't swap switches to check them. The left side and right side window switches near the shifter are two switches in one. The left front & left rear switches are one...

Re: Please help me confirm my trans...

2003-2004 Ion Sedans (and a few late build 2004 Ion Quad Coupes) have the Aisin AF23 5-speed automatic transmission (RPO code M43). It's not any less serviceable than other transmissions, aside from...

Re: 2006 Vue Drivers Window Won't Work

Most likely causes are bad window motor or broken wires in driver's door jamb.

Re: Spark plugs, spark plugs, spark plugs...

If it still runs good at that mileage, the plugs have more than likely been replaced at some point. The factory-installed platinum plugs would have some major gap erosion with 193k miles on them....

Re: Spark plugs, spark plugs, spark plugs...

Your owners manual says p/n 12569190 should be used. That part number has since been replaced by 12599232 which is AC Delco p/n 41-941 (single platinum). At that time, platinum plugs were installed...

Re: New Timken wheel bearings/hubs have play?

You would be correct. I've never let a bad wheel bearing go long enough to worry about it catastrophically failing.

As I eluded to before, this can't work on the separate hub & bearing design the...

Re: New Timken wheel bearings/hubs have play?

No, it doesn't. It can't control bearing tightness because all the clamping force is being applied to the hub. No clamping force whatsoever is applied to the bearing, nor does there need to be. If...

Re: New Timken wheel bearings/hubs have play?

I'd say the ball joint is the most likely culprit. A loose axle nut wouldn't cause any movement of the wheel/tire. All the axle nut does is prevent the splined axle shaft from sliding back & forth...

Re: Part number request

I just checked availability of the two part numbers I gave you. 96817602 (cover) has been discontinued, but 96673826 is still available.

Re: Fake Bumblebee?

I agree with you about the I/P being black. I'm just telling you what I saw in the parts catalog - it had "yellow" in the description. The glare from it would be a huge distraction if it was yellow,...

Here's a link to a good parts diagram. The part numbers you need are also listed below. You can PM me a list of part numbers, and I can check availability for you. I work at a GM parts department and...

Re: Fake Bumblebee?

I can confirm this is a 2001 Saturn SC2 Limited Edition (aka "Bumblebee"). I entered the VIN into the GM parts catalog at work, and found that his vehicle has the signature RPO codes that are only...

Re: Fake Bumblebee?

I'll look up the VIN tomorrow at work. This definitely looks like a legit bumblebee to me. Looking under the fuel filler door would confirm it's legitimacy.

Re: Ion electrical power steering torque sensor relearn with tech 2

There was a recall for the electric power steering motor a while back, about 7 years ago to be exact (link here (https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2014/RCRIT-14V153-8173.pdf)). I'd go to nhtsa.gov and...

Re: 2003 Ion Shift Linkage

I just looked up all the part numbers at work. Most of them have been discontinued. You'll need to get them from a junkyard from one of the applications listed above.

Re: Manual Trans "Push-start" question

The clutch switch only stops the starter from engaging if it's not pressed. Not pushing it won't prevent the engine from starting. If you wanted to try it anyways, you don't need to tape the clutch...

Re: 2007 Saturn Ion 2 MT Fluid

I'd pour in two whole quarts of Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. Yes, the manual says it only holds 1.7 qts, but there are TSBs that instructed owners to overfill this same transmission to 2.6 qts in older...

Re: 2004 VUE Code PO446 Evap canister vent selenoid

The actual definition for DTC P0446 ("Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit") does not refer to any specific part. If you had the code scanned at AutoZone, they simply provide a...

Re: 2004 VUE Code PO446 Evap canister vent selenoid

It's attached to the vapor canister under the vehicle. It's item #25 in this (https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/epc/saturn/zl1-l/03/zl03-006/) diagram.

Re: Front Sway Bar Clamp Bolt size

I recently started a new parts job at a GM dealership. 11515767 is the part number shown for these bolts with the same specs I mentioned earlier.
