Re: another revisitation on old actuator trick

My GM service manuals do not show a schematic for actuators. A basic diagram of a dc motor and pinouts. Below are snapshots for L200s hvac controls.

Re: another revisitation on old actuator trick

In theory, no one wants to hear the hvac mode, temperature or recirculate doors moving and design sees to that. I can hear the quiet movement of actuators when paying attention to each one but...

Re: electrical failure

Four weeks before a new alternator caved in? Either you're running massive amps to shatter ear drums with your favorite tunes or gremlins rewired the electrical system. Yours lasted three weeks...

Re: another revisitation on old actuator trick

As you know, seniors like to use the phrase "young at heart, old age is a state of mind", etc. I've been informed of my spoken words as sometimes harsh or condescending. The word 'condescend' isn't...

Re: electrical failure

Never assume a new battery and alternator are fault free. They can fail at any time without rhyme or reason. Sight unseen, descriptions seem to be power related; battery, battery cables, their...

Re: '03 L200 Bong question.

Do you have the owner's manual or not? There are many things covering GMs Passlock anti theft system with or without factory remotes (not given to the next owner, damaged, not replaced). If you used...

Re: 2003 ION Stalls at Stop....Now Dangerous to Drive

In my previous post, #10, I mentioned a possible fuel issue.

With 230k miles, everything is out of warranty and failure of long life parts have to be considered. No one can expect a fuel pump to...

Re: electrical failure

Before panicking about an expensive repair, try the easy stuff. How old is the battery? Batteries tend to last the length of it's warranty then die. Are both battery cable connections clean, secure...

Re: another revisitation on old actuator trick

I retired after 42 yrs. Fast approaching 70. The only reference I recall was something in the '70's about having flow thru ventilation in cars at all times whether the blower works or not. Mechanical...

Re: another revisitation on old actuator trick

Whether this was hearsay or fact, a problem remains if this were true.

Most here can remember the old days of manual ac and heater controls with levers or dials connected to mechanical linkages....

Re: 2002 LW300 Brake Boost Failure?

Ugh,....... I'll get back to you after I drag out 50 lbs of service manuals and find P0343. I prefer to reply from an authoritative point of view holding a service manual as my reference. I trip on...

Re: Saturn Aura -not starting, checked threads, but questions....

Your only clue to avoid the under car starter test was rechecking battery voltage again. Anytime battery voltage drops below 12.5v is cause for concern. Power starts at the battery then flows thru...

I think you meant 04 L200 4cyl. Better to post a new thread of a suspected faulty input speed sensor and any error code(s) suggesting sensor fault.

Re: Wrench Light, no symptoms, 2005 VUE

joshjani, a number of P type error codes won't show up on generic readers and P0873 is one of them. Since the engine light never turned on and the wrench light did, VCX NANO decoded it. As you become...

Re: '03 L200 Bong question.

Mistakes that don't hurt anyone and shared for a good laugh while pointing out how not to do things are life's little pleasures.

Re: 2002 LW300 Brake Boost Failure?

A follow up with one snapshot and possibly a better suggestion if the Dorman vacuum check valve has a larger O.D. barbed fitting than the original.

I removed the Dorman 90 degree hose extension...

Re: 2002 LW300 Brake Boost Failure?

Unless Dorman makes the vacuum check valve in a smaller diameter for the hose end, (I have no idea, maybe 5mm/1/4" OD?) the universal Dorman check valve has a larger OD than our Saturns check valve....
