Re: A/C Compressor - Oil or Coolant Leak

If you cannot get the entire service manual online, subscribe as suggested. Service manuals are written for trained people that use manuals as reference. You're second guessing with questions that...

Re: A/C Compressor - Oil or Coolant Leak

Re: "Hosed" - Rear brake line snapped

1-If you're not in any hurry to make repairs, you might be able to search (with patience) for oem or aftermarket replacement. You might have trouble finding it in Autozone/Advance Auto/NAPA/big chain...

Re: A/C Compressor - Oil or Coolant Leak

Yes. Removing the ac 10 amp fuse will disable compressor operation but doing so may turn on the check engine light with a false error code. You are correct - ac will run but will not below...

Re: Draining Coolant - Where does it come out?

Then it shouldn't be difficult to find a place off the beaten path for weekend car maintenance when you remember your past. As a retired person, I was visiting my local Home Depot and before I left I...

Re: Draining Coolant - Where does it come out?

The petcock is always plastic with a soft rubber washer. Its actually a little difficult to loosen the petcock because of the thick rubber washer that seals for life against any leak from a worn...

Re: Best Tires for Handling & Rain Traction? - '98 SC2

Hey, was that you in an impromptu race years ago on the Grand Central Parkway in a red Porsche 924 going westbound? I was the blue 280-Z and we were both weaving thru traffic when you took the BQE...

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Oil Ring Burning Suggestions.?

If you can get compression numbers, you might find which cylinders is low, presuming the lower compression is the oil user. Maybe try one quart of thicker oil? Instead of refilling with whatever...

Re: Draining Coolant - Where does it come out?

Virtually every radiator has a petcock drain valve like the one you have at the bottom. No provisions are made to include a tube or other means to drain coolant. The same with draining oil. Place a...

Re: pulling away at idle when cold

The only guess I can make in the xmission to cause a drop in idle rpm might be the torque converter lock up clutch inadvertently energized at idle with a cold engine.

1-Do you know how to test the map sensor? You can remove it for inspection for any carbon deposits blocking the small port on the sensor.

2-Was fuel filter ever replaced (every 100k miles)?

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Base 2.2L Won't start after Timing Chain/Head Replacement!

If security (Passlock) isn't flashing on the instrument panel, Passlock isn't actively disabling injectors. GMs Passlock does not disable spark. Passlock's only way to tell anyone its active or not...

Re: [2001 L300] - Easiest way to tap into true ignition safely; anyone?

Presuming your setup is controlling the auxiliary battery with a 200 amp relay from the ignition switch (correct me if I'm wrong), do you have a wiring diagram of this setup? You can attach thumbnail...

Stabilizer/sway bar links are just that, stabilizer/sway bar links. They're just different lengths. As long as you can find them fine.

Re: 2005 Saturn Vue Base 2.2L Won't start after Timing Chain/Head Replacement!

You may have more than one problem after major repairs. You might start by checking to see if there are any blown fuses then move on. With the starter turning over the engine, this part is eliminated...
