Crank position sensors very very rarely go out on the 4 cyl. On the 6 cyl=fairly common. As long as your battery terminals are tight & not corroded with the symptoms you describe the common cause...

The better techs can do em in 3-3.5 hrs. The others more like 5.

The actual time needed will very greatly depending on the workload of the shop that day.

Suspect the BCM.

Specially after someone has been fooling with the charging system.

One arch is all it takes to whack your BCM.

Change the thermostat. Problem solved. It is not weather related.

The temp sensor you replaced never goes bad on your model.

Changing the thermostat yourself on your model is quite a job.

I agree w/unkle bik.....I do want to add one thing. When you get new tires you need to keep the tires rotated on a regular basis. Once you let the rear cup severly its to late. Rotate the tires on...

5 more years on a L300....Buy a warranty! Get one that the dealer you deal with sells or will honor. Some dealers will not deal with some aftermarket warranties.

Capt-aftermarket pads tend to create noise on your L series. Or they didn't turn the rotors or turned them improperly.

Yup the common fix is an ECM reprogram with an upgraded version. Don't let them replace the cluster,ecm,bcm or fuel sender. They should try this first. That is common info given to all Saturn service...
