My 03 gave up the ghost finally at 92,000 miles... the transmission, of course went out :( . Ran great right until its end when the transmission died literally letting me coast into the parking lot...

I found that running a oil change of full synthetic actually cleaned my crankcase pretty good. Mine had some minor buildup and after that change...sludge be gone. I simply changed it with m1 5w-30. ...

I would say its a trans issue too. Those models had the CVT transmission which was prone to fail. Maybe have the trans oil checked? How does the oil look? I would get the trans fluid changed...

Well filled it today... 348 miles, needle not far from the bottom of the gauge....25.4 mpg! :D . Alot of highway was on this tank but its the record best mileage this car has given me thus far :)....

Hmm depends where im driving, if it is close usually I just leave the floor and upper vent open with no fans on nor a/c and windows down....I know that increases drag though but no air conditioning. ...
