... It's rare , but very possible, that a strut or bearing plate failed, I had a new kyb strut fail ,it rattled over bumps and rock auto warranted it, just my.02, DC.

...Get a test light and pull off the connector at the motor, hit the switch and see if it lights up , if it does , the motor is bad . No light, the switch is bad, that's a start, hope that helps, DC
