Re: Bleeding Brakes on ABS system: '94 SL2 HCE

If I'm looking at the diagram right, you can prod pin's C & D (Dark Green & Orange) on the dedicated 6-wire black connector with 12v at the motor connectors.
It's unclear which is in/out but the...

Re: When low mileage means squat.

Low mileage means 1 of 2 things:

Rotted out lawn ornament I shouldn't have to shell out $$$$$ for
Costs more than a 20% down payment on a brand new vehicle so you'd have to be a moron to buy...

Re: Bad Lock Cylinder/Won't Run

'00-'02 have GM's passlock security. Have fun starting it with any part of the security system not 100%.

Re: AC Compressor Compatibility

AllDataDIY says #21031323 for a '97 SC2. The official GM parts sites come up either blank (no parts found) or say it fits any year/model while RockAuto has 4 relevant aftermarket part numbers show...

Re: Bleeding Brakes on ABS system: '94 SL2 HCE

I had a blowout of the rear rubber line on a '93 SL2 with ABS. Hobbled it home via 5spd and p-brake, borrowed another car and got a new line. Replaced said line, bled that lone caliper and went on...

Re: 2001 SC1 frontal crash- can it be saved?

Like a full list of "part x = $50"? No.

Have to check individual parts on eBay and https://www.car-part.com/

Re: 2001 SC1 frontal crash- can it be saved?

The subframe bolts on, fairly simple to replace. The bigger issue IMO is the bent frame rail where the radiator support is welded on.

The red dots are where the spot welds are, the yellow box is...

Re: Carpeting?

'96 should use the same floor pan up to '02, lots of years to swap from and potential to get a similar quality used one. If you're not picky about how it looks around the B pillar and are willing to...

Re: Cylinder Head compatibility

Exhaust manifold and downpipe change's '98->'99 so you'd have to keep them with the head and likely have someone weld it onto the '95's cat-back.

I believe 1999 DOHC's are semi-unique and use the...

Re: Saturn jerks

Pulling the front O2 sensor tells you if the exhaust is restricted, pulling the rear O2 sensor tells you if the clog is before or after the catalytic converter.

Re: 2001 SC1 frontal crash- can it be saved?

The radiator support isn't perfectly straight anyway. Starts out at the fender, comes forward about 2" then is straight where it's above the radiator then back to the fender.

IMO the only cheap...

Re: FOB/ remote control re-programing

The dealership isn't required to program Gen 3 FOB's, anybody with a Tech II equivalent can do it. They're around $120 on Amazon, but they don't include the required Windows XP based laptop.

Re: I need help cluster panel tailgate bulb light not lighting up

Pretty sure you buy a SW1/SW2/SWP or rewire the car.

Normally I'd verify with the FSM, but a recent Windows Update apparently changed crap it shouldn't have changed and all my virtual machines are...

Re: Fuel Pressure

Since you have a FP gauge and a '95-'97 you could try adjusting the regulator. Takes a safety torx bit, guessing T15.

As noted you don't want to go under 30psi nor over 36psi, though too much...

Re: 2001 Saturn SL2 wheel shaking noticeably over 50 MPH

I've found that unbalanced car tires start shaking between 40 and 50mph and it just gets worse the faster you go. Brake rotors only shake the car under braking, if doing anything to the rotor fix's...

Re: 2001 SC1 frontal crash- can it be saved?

Nearly all damage is fixable. Not all body damage is financially viable to repair, especially if you don't already have the tools to do it or will be paying someone else to do it.

Yours does read...

Re: BAT - where will this end up $$ ?

SC/SC2 only came from the factory with 15" alloy wheels and 195/60R15 tires.
SL2/SW2 came with 15's, usually steel with stupid plastic hubcaps and 185/65R15. They were commonly optioned with the...

Re: Can't find rear 02 sensor on 97 SL2

'96+ has a rear O2 sensor from the factory.

Should be directly after the catalytic converter, before the flange to the cat-back portion of the exhaust. Kinda hidden as it's angled up into the...

Re: Adding to the Tool Box

I'm not a fan of u-joints in tools, the ones I had would bind up and snap with little torque/angles and they'd let the socket flop all over the place making it annoying to line up to a bolt head....

Re: Dashboard Crack Repair?

Even if you repaired it, you'd have to sand the texture off the entire dash pad or have someone with some artistic ability go nuts with a die grinder on the repair area.

Sun fading could change...

Re: Swapping fenders and paint #

A lot of parts are interchangeable between the 2dr/4dr models, but body panels are entirely unique to the 2dr's.

Re: TBI vacuum hoses gasket

Pretty sure all you need to do to make the S-Series TB work on the 7.4L BBC is swap the injector. Odd that what sounds like a standard O-ring doesn't swap.

Re: Will a 2002 Saturn SC1 SOHC Transmission work in a 1998 saturn SL1 SOHC ?

They should swap '95-'02...or '98-'02 (dealer listings are VERY confused on transmission interchange) but the automatics are pretty picky about the electronics so unless you're doing the work...
