I've read there are a few different switches that "tell" the cruise control to disengage (manual transmission)..One when the clutch is depressed, one when the bake pedal is depressed and, of course...

Re: 1992 two tone sc production numbers

I've read approx. 1,100 over a three year period. But, I have no firsthand knowledge. Someone here will probably have more exact information.

Elbow cushion

I've looked for one of these for the drivers door. Not much padding in the cloth covering over the plastic inside door shell. I only seem to find them for larger uses like arms of computer chairs....

I knew about auto reverse slam....

....but, since my SW2 is a 5 spd I never really experienced it, before tonight.

I was coming out of a restaurant and, parked a few spaces away from me was a '98 (I think) SC2. The driver got it...

Re: This windshield is driving me cazy

is the inside windshield streaking from less than ideal cleaning, early morning condensation creating fog streaks or continuous outgassing?

I've tried to clean but, obviously, have done less than...

This windshield is driving me cazy

I don't know why, but the inside of my windshield is streaky (maybe from plastic residue leeching out of dash in the southwest heat? , although you'd think, after 22 years it would be leeched out by...

Re: Low Mile Finds

"If the trip meter reads 000 - odds are the odometer isn't working. It' s quite common on 1991-1994 cars",

I've been wondering about that as the odometer on my 1996 SW2 works fine but my trip...

Re: Saturn Trivia - TVs Outrageous Act of Science

Re: What battery are you using

I've used lots of different brands but after a couple of AutoZone batteries that "bit the dust" prematurely I started using whatever AAA carries. They have a three year warranty and if one should...

Re: Squeaky Clutch when Over 80 Degrees

Same exact scenario, here.

I never knew the temperature at which the squeaking started, but I know that it only happens on warmer days.

I think the "trigger temperature" on mine is a bit...

Re: Temperature differential with A/C on

If I didn't know better I'd swear that this car "knows" what is going on and is "aware" it is going to the mechanic. I got up early this AM and was in the car, ready to back out of the driveway to...

Re: Temperature differential with A/C on

"If it gets low enough, compressor will not be engaged, you'll just have non-op AC"

Nice to know there is a "fail-safe" feature designed into the system (or idiot assist, in my case lol)

Re: Temperature differential with A/C on

That chart makes me feel better about things already, since daytime temps, (lately) have been in the 107° range.

Now ... as I'm checking the outlow temps, it's off to the next thing on...

Temperature differential with A/C on

My A/C works great when it's, <100° out. When it get's hotter than that it blows cool air but not as cold as when it's not quite as hot out.

Perhaps the compressor output is the same in both...

Re: Sport Wagon

I think a lot of people who don't know much about Saturn also have no idea what the SW stands for. Their minds fill in the blanks with what sounds logical ... Station Wagon or Sport Wagon.

Re: I need some advice on some body work for my car

Am I misreading something? Did you part it out and get $1800 or did the insurance company write you a check?

6'0" and 200, here.

1996 SW2

To be honest, I really don't have any point of comparison as this is the only car I've driven since it came of the lot in '96. I don't know if I'm "fine" with how...
