Re: 99 Saturn SL2 engine hesitation, now won’t start

Re: Brakes going to floor

Most of the times it's lines, especially in the salt belt. When I can't find it I pump the brakes until I see the puddle.

Re: Extinct Car Day at Larz Anderson Museum 2019

Some year Pitcher and I will have to drive out our red 1998 SC2s. Maybe 2027 would work for me. I should have it painted by then.

Re: Momentary high idle, codes 35 and 49

Look for vacuum leaks first. The plastic lines that run around can get brittle. Do you have air injection? Check the hose from the brake booster. You may want to replace the IAC valve if those...

Re: I bought a 99 SC2 slowly bring it back to life.

Awesome. I never would have thought to do that.

Re: How to pull the engine?

You could get it out over a weekend if you are a first timer. We took longer but I made my 15 year old do all the work.

Re: light that indicates low coolant is coming on lately

It's probably a 6x1.0. Lots of bolts that size in a Saturn.

Re: SL2 standard transmission problems

Welcome to the forums! My '99 has its original cables and they are still good. There is a pin that wears on the shift tower. Not too hard to spin it 90 degrees and it costs nothing. You will need to...

Re: Stainless Steel muffler, or maybe not....

My '99 has the original exhaust, nose to tail. I've owned it since new. The salt gods have had their way with it. My '98 appears to have the original exhaust. No way to know for certain.

How are...

Re: Would replacing my air filter improve my mpg?

My 99 SL2 has been over 40 many times. Not lately though. The 55 MPH era was awesome for fuel economy.

Re: light that indicates low coolant is coming on lately

Re: sl1 2002. What sensors to replace?

Here is my take on it. The OEM sensors are pretty awesome. The replacements, not always as good. Every AC Delco part I've recently bought has been from China. I would not replace them proactively,...

Re: Got a new 97 SL2. Alarm question.

This is awesome. I only had one remote that I bought off eBay and programmed. I hate the alarm and security feature. Don't need it, I have a manual transmission. Just bought two more remotes. ...

Re: What's the " best" year S-series?

My '99 was bought in Connecticut. I wanted a base model SL2 with a manual. They had to import it from Massachusetts. It has an air pump but is clearly an East coast car. The system still works...
