Re: Astra Oil Capacity? How much do you guys use?

I've only ever used only synthetic in this car, but I'm lazy and just pour the whole 5 quarts in. So far no issues, and I get back basically everything I put in when I drain it.

Re: IP banned

So I went to my brothers house, who lives in the same area as me, and has the same ISP as me, and when I try to access the site from there, my IP is also banned, thus making me believe that for some...

Re: IP banned

Yes, I did. Of course when I'm using my home internet connection, I get the same error again, from the site. I tried yesterday, with another internet connection, and it gave me a page not found...

Re: IP banned

Sorry but that's not correct. All my devices can access ALL sites, including this one, when using a different internet connection, and therefore different IP. There is no issue with my devices. The...

Furthermore, I can use the exact same session on the exact same device, but connect to my phone using its hotspot and mobile data, and I am able to access the site, hence my being able to post right...

No this is not the issue. The admin has explicitly banned my IP. See attached photo:

IP banned

Hello to the mods/admin:

For some reason my IP for my home internet connection has been banned by this site. I'm not sure why that would be, but it prevents me from posting from home. Can someone...

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

Man I haven't driven a car without power steering since my dad's TR6. The effort to turn that thing when parking was insane. I hope you figure it out.

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

Wow, I'm on my 4th battery, including the original. That's amazing your battery has lasted so long.

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

Just my yearly bump to this thread. Its been 6 years and 2 days since this thread started. I've got 77,000KMs on the odo. Everything seems to being fine, except the dreaded flex pipe, and also some...

Re: Convert US Saturn Astra back to Opel/Vauxhall

The one thing that has stopped me for doing the conversion is being able to doi the entire thing. And the one thing that seems to be difficult is the centre piece on the steering wheel. Everything...

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

No. Last time (2015) I bough a universal 2" x 8" one off of Ebay and had it installed at a local shop. What do you mean by have one made? An exhaust shop will make a flex pipe?

Re: The last Saturn Astra owner.

I have the flex pipe problem again. Anyone know the cheapest place to buy a replacement, preferably in Canada, but also the US if the shipping isn't too bad?

Re: Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

I agree...so I filled my tank with gas, and it goes all the way to the top. Its not stuck or not working. So what do you think caused that? Under normal circumstances, since I regularly check how...

Re: Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

Can anyone put together why a failed battery would affect the fuel gauge? Like I said before, I'm almost positive the last time my battery died, I had a similar problem, but luckily I didn't run out...

Re: Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

Anyhow, whatever the reason why that happened, its dangerous as all hell. You can say I should have kept my tank filled up, but I should be able to trust the gauge. I was put into a very dangerous...

Re: Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

I haven't filled the tank yet, but I remember, vaguely, the last time this happened, when I filled the tank everything went back to normal. I believe when I put the 5 litres in, the gauge went DOWN,...

Re: Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

So, I'm going through reasons as to why the fuel gauge didn't work right. The one thing I can think of is that my battery died in the last few weeks, and I haven't added gas since then. I seem to...

Re: Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

Lesson learned alright. I through 5 litres in, and it fired right up. The guage went down to the proper amount as well, so it got stuck for some reason. I won't let it run down that low again. Phew,...

Re: Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

The more I think about it, and the more I read, the more I think maybe I did run out of gas and that the guage is wrong. I'm going to put some gas in it, and see what happens. Might as well start...

Astra stalled on highway and won't restart

So last night I had just got on the highway, I was accelerating up to 120km/h to pass a group of cars when suddenly I felt a loss of power. I managed to make it over to the shoulder and by the time I...
