Re: An odd thing happened this morning...

^^^ Personally, I would not give up on it quite yet. You mentioned that no CEL's were showing. Did you check it with a code reader? The reason I ask is that sometimes codes are set but it does not...

Re: My obsession over wagons

^^^ No not crazy. It could be a diamond in the rough. I'd really want to know if the timing belt was ever changed. With that mileage I hope so. Replacement at 100K miles is ideal. Many change...

Re: An odd thing happened this morning...

With that amount of miles, you have had good service from that trans. It's a roll of the dice as to your next move.

Consider some of the possible issues indicated on the PDF file Fdryer posted....

Re: An odd thing happened this morning...

Any signs of transmission fluid on the driveway under the vehicle? Low fluid level will cause this until the pressure builds up. Is your driveway fairly level or flat?

Checking the fluid level...

Re: L300 starts but doesn’t drive

^^^"With metal attached to it" Some 4T45-E transmissions have a metal clamp that the filter rides on top of to help secure it to the valve body. Some transmissions do not have this piece.

This...

Re: L300 starts but doesn’t drive

^^^ Correct. If it is a 2005, it has to be the 3.0 6 CYL. 2.2 was not an option on the L-Series for this year.

The black piece that fell out while the trans filter was being changed? Was...

Re: HELP!!! L200 is out of whack.

^^ Just put this to the test. It appears that at least on the 2004 models, there must be some power for this work. With the battery connected, turning the ignition switch to ACC does indeed allow...

Re: L200 battery light/crank no start

Your next step would be to do a compression check. No compression would indicate a broken chain.

Do a search in this forum and you will find several threads on how to do this.

Re: L 300 R/S B-pillar molding

You are right I should! LOL.

I've pulled a bunch of these in the past. At best, I've managed to get only 2 of the 3 tabs undamaged.

Re: 2006 Saturn Ion 2.2L flashing check engine light

In any event,...
