Re: 220.4° Too High?

Another thing to consider is that cooling systems are designed for worst case scenarios. Your hot hill climb in SoCal and Gulf coast summers are the extreme hot end of the design. Everywhere else the...

Re: Door moulding

I would hit the wrecking yards and just take rf door seals. They fit both sides and the passenger side gets less use.

Re: Low Beams not working, DRL and high beams do

The daytime running lights and the high beams use the inside bulbs. The outer bulbs are the low beams on your car. When did this start, have they ever been right?

Re: 2003 Saturn L200 Anti-Freeze/Coolant Leak?

Dexcool is a 5 year/100,000 mile coolant. That is whichever occurs first not last. So even though your car has less than 60K miles it should have had coolant changes every 5 years. I bet it still has...

Re: Factory paint

I have owned or currently own two silver 2002 cars, a 2000 silver car that is a different silver. A dark blue 2000, a dark green 2001, a white 2003 and a gold 2002. The gold 2002 had a gold cloth...

Re: Kicking It Down the Road

If you do not have the six disc cd player and the speaker in the lr corner then you do not have an amp. The single disc/cassette player or the single disc player do not come with an amp. The factory...

Re: Kicking It Down the Road

I deal with a professional car stereo store on a regular basis for my company rigs.
I had them replace the front door speakers on my 06 Navigator, one was shutting off at random. They sold me an...

Re: Kicking It Down the Road

The stock system has two speakers in each door. The bottom speakers in the rear doors usually die first.
My car has two speakers in each door plus a factory amp and a rear powered speaker to help...

Re: Kicking It Down the Road

I have the factory six disc player with the amp and sub woofer. I need a new sub woofer( it rattles when turned way up) but the system sounds great. The standard system speakers are terrible.

Re: Why is it so difficult to order parts from GM?

The last two L series I purchased I went to the local GMC dealer with my title in hand and had them cut new factory keys. They even had Saturn blanks in stock, so my keys look and work like new.

Re: Purple horn wire accidentally ripped out when removing steering wheel. HELP

You probably should post this in the S series forum, I think I have only driven one S series car.

Re: 2003 L300 steering shaft coupler

Due to liability issues lots of shops replace parts rather than repair them. I understand why however I will repair just about anything if I can get the parts. The shaft in question has a universal...

Re: Swapping seats into my LS1

Also unless your upholstery is torn the only problem with your seat is the cloth/rubber piece that supports the foam. The support seems to tear in the rubber part. The last seat I repaired I swapped...

Re: L300 Timing belt/water pump questions

I would purchase oem parts from Rock Auto. I bought Cloyes parts when I did my L200. I don’t trust Chinese parts for timing parts, too much to fix if they fail.

Re: 1993 sl1 vin9 SOHC front wheel locked not brakes

This happens when the transmission tries to go both forward and reverse at the same time. Nothing turns. Time to look inside.

Re: 2001 L200 Ecotec 2.2L with codes P0303 and P0340

That cap is , but Mitsubishi 3.0l used in early Caravans had crossing paths so the wires could connect 3 front and 3 rear.
Gm has done this for years with their “crab” cap with the 4 driver’s side...

Re: 2001 L200 Ecotec 2.2L with codes P0303 and P0340

A friend in West Virginia had a missfire on #4 and I sent him a coil pack.
When I investigated the coil pack I discovered that the design can cause problems if you run your plugs too long.
If you...

Re: 2001 L200 Ecotec 2.2L with codes P0303 and P0340

P0303 is #3 but that is not the issue. Buy a used coil set with the ignition module at a wrecking yard. The cam sensor is built into the ignition module, the module looks at kv load while firing the...

Re: need help, serious (time to come clean)

I love all the time wasted talking about a stick shift conversion and you can’t make the engine run. On a scale of one to ten making the engine run is skill level 3, making a conversion from an...

Re: New oil, old filter, can I replace the filter if there's oil in the car?

Next time change the filter first, a small amount of dirty oil drains into the sump when you remove the filter. The special socket is a good idea.

Re: Stock Thermostat Temp? 180ºF or 195ºF?

The L200 takes a 180 degree thermostat. My last thermostat failed by having part of the rubber lip failing. This let coolant flow all the time but slowly. The gage read low and after a couple days...

Re: AC issue

I just installed a L300 compressor on my L200 last week. The compressor is the same, the L300 uses a 6 groove belt and the L200 uses a 5 groove belt. I used the inside 5 grooves and the belt lined up...
