Re: Replaced Struts, used front Quick Struts...need further info

Shipping is always an extra charge from rock auto. Also a front end clunk could be a ball joint or sway bar links and bushings. These l cars seem to go thru a lot of those LOL.

Re: Steering wheel rejuvenation

I have installed wheelskinz steering wheel covers. They are not cheap, but they are nice.

Re: Factory paint

That is a sharp car...the only thing that would make it better is the black interior.

Re: Factory paint

They had black, gray and brown . They were available in cloth or leather. I'm also thinking there may have been blue and red cloth, but I'm not 100% on that.

Re: Stirring up the pot on when to check the oil level in an ECOTEC 2.2L engine

I believe this falls into the "too much time on your hands" category LOL. I'm sure there is a reason for checking the oil while it's warm. I always check it on cold engines and have had no issues so...

Re: Factory paint

The most common color is silver. The most rare is a red, blue, purple kameleon.

Re: Kicking It Down the Road

Well you asked for opinions and quality, cost and experience. I have all 3. As far as cost goes you're gonna pay more going your route. As far as experience goes I've had the cheap system, the top of...

Re: Kicking It Down the Road

First off that stuff is mostly refurbished...that means it's crap LOL. Secondly it's out of stock. Great door speakers can be had for 50 bucks a pair on Crutchfield. A good 4 channel amp can be had...

Re: Kicking It Down the Road

The wife's 2003 has the upgraded sound system and it still works fine. I did put an Alpine in it a couple years ago because she wanted Bluetooth and satellite radio. She had a 2002 before that and it...

Re: Why is it so difficult to order parts from GM?

I don't find it too hard to come by parts. I think you're making it a little harder than it needs to be. Rockauto stocks the OE ignition cylinder and door looks can be found online easily as well. As...

Re: 2003 L300 steering shaft coupler

Your mechanic is not a very good mechanic. The coupler has a pinch bolt that holds it on. Take that pinch bolt off, pull shaft out, grease splines of shaft and reinstall. I used to have to do this to...

Re: Swapping seats into my LS1

I see leather L seats at the junkyard all the time. They are power and can be put in your car with a little work.

Re: Stop posting S-Series to L-Series thread

The differences are everything lol. The L series is based on a car designed and built in Europe. There are some things from an S series that interchange with the L series, but not much at all. In the...

Russet...chill lol. It's a common mistake, but a mistake none the less. You are not perfect so don't expect others to be so.

Re: My obsession over wagons

As stated earlier with that mileage you need to be sure of the timing belt and water pump. I think you pais too much, but I do understand the desire for a car lol.

Re: My obsession over wagons

We have a 2003 v6 now with 132k on it. We sold a 2002 with the 2.2 almost 2 years ago with 280k on it. The 2002 was sold to a family friend and is still going with well over 300k. The 2.2 was way...

Re: Parts question

Your best bet is to hit up junkyards/pick-n-pull yards. I have also found parts on ebay, but they can be way more than junkyard prices.

Re: Does this price sound right?

Perhaps your best bet is to go to several shops with estimate in hand. Maybe you can get shops to undercut each other. Also keep in mind that these places need to make money. I you're unable or...

Re: My obsession over wagons

You didn't say if the 2004 was the 2.2 4 cylinder or the v6. I've had both and believe me when I say that the 4 cylinder is way more reliable and easier and most cost effective to own. The downside...

Re: L300 Timing belt/water pump questions

I purchased all ac delco parts from rock auto and would highly recommend against anything else. I did not replace any seals. I first did the timing belt without the tool. I used bolts and zip ties,...

Re: Replaced Struts, used front Quick Struts...

When I replaced the struts on the wife's 2002 they didn't have the quick struts. I bought all new mounts and used kyb struts. It rode great after that. Her 2003 now has 132k and in need of struts. I...

Re: subframes,

How are you fighting with the timing? The timing is designed to be non adjustable and any attempt to change means trouble.

Re: 3.0 Engines

The vue uses a 5 speed auto vs the L having a 4 speed auto. Perhaps the difference is how the 2 transmissions are mounted to the block.
