Re: 2000 SL2 Valve body or actual gear?

I would suspect either the valve body or the transmission oil pump. The BODY CONTROL MODULE has nothing to do with the transmission. Changing the PCM WILL trip passlock security.

Re: 2000 Saturn SW2 won't go into reverse

You need lots more parts and the knowledge to get the electronics working properly. This will be both time consuming and expensive.

If you want a manual then fix the auto and sell it so you have...

Re: An interesting brake rotor conundrum

Check the part number on the box against the manufacturers catalog dimensions. That does not look like the correct rotor. Go to RockAuto and look at the dimensions for a Centric rotor. Any Saturn as...

Re: cruise control problem

It is all in the module in the column and the switch on the wheel. If you mean quits working by dropping out of cruise every so often that is usually the module or a power issue. Replace the CRUISE...

Re: 2000 Saturn SW2 won't go into reverse

They are not familiar with a Saturn. It must be out of a Sx-2 and install new axle seals. The place I linked will ship and it may not be that expensive and even Car-Part has the correct trans listed.

Re: 96 SC2 bringing it back to life (slowly)

To prevent grief be sure to block the belt so the retractor does not go crazy and wind up on you. It will only extend when held in the exact install position.

Re: 2000 Saturn SW2 won't go into reverse

There are only 2 different auto trans, One for the SOHC engine and one for the DOHC engine. Other than the axle seals you can use any automatic from any year 94 and newer. If you want a good one call...

Re: 2000 SL2 Valve body or actual gear?

The pins to look at for a Gen-3 are A2 and the others in the -2 row. The general info is searchable with just F-5. A-2 is the power feed to the transmission fuses.

Re: windshield washer pump won't stop

The pump control is part of the entire motor system. You can try cleaning the connector and socket and it might fix it or just replace it now and avoid the rush later.

Re: 2000 Saturn SW2 won't go into reverse

Auto to manual swap into a gen-3 is a major PITA if you actually want it to be code free. It may actually cost real money to make this happen.

Re: bad EGR?

That lighter socket was never designed to be a power port for any continuous load. If the previous owner used for such then that may be the cause of the trans issues. That circuit directly feeds the...

Re: JP's Failing Attempts at a Tranny Swap (Log)

Any parts store ,can read the code for you.

Those are the RPO codes you really need to know what the PCM was programmed for.

This is the total list of programmed items. Right column is all...

Re: JP's Failing Attempts at a Tranny Swap (Log)

I have not looked into it as it is far from straight forward if modification is required.

As a general rule it is a very good idea to keep the PCM year and engine type matching the car and just...

Re: bad EGR?

No, a plugged filter will just starve the engine for fuel. With the filter changed you should be fine but the Snipe Hunters will be asking for pressure readings soon. You should do the following F-5...

Re: bad EGR?

No, you go to the JY and start pulling all the matching valves and find a clean one. It is much cheaper.

CHEVROLET ASTRO 1995
CHEVROLET BLAZER 1995
CHEVROLET S10...
