I'm a fan of the General Altimax RT 43s too. Great tire at a reasonable cost

Yes, I have one of those however if I'm going to a yard I would need something battery powered. A sawsall would be tough to get in there. I guess I should shop for a cordless angle grinder if you...

Re: and so it begins....
I was thinking about buying a welder for my son-in-law who would likely use it more than I. He's a newly minted mechanic for a Ford dealership but aspires to open his own shop some day. Anyways, I...

Re: and so it begins....
So summer tires are on and the SL2 is all cleaned up from the winter abuse. It hasn't really been driven much in the last year given the circumstances.
I took a peak under the car to see what the...

Re: SL2 Front Stabilizer Bar Size
The OEM bars for SOHC and DOHC have different diameters however they use the same OEM sway bar bushing and control arm bushings. The DOHC (like your SL2) has the larger diameter.
OEM part numbers...

Just bend them back with a pair of vise grips. If you have a pair of sheet metal vice grips that would work even better.

Waiex beat me to the punch. Refrain from plugging things into the cigarette lighter socket. The car's circuitry was designed before electronic gadgetry came into fashion. You will burn up the pins...

You're in Las Vegas! How cold does it get? I can't imagine you see the temperatures we see here in the north mid winter.
HVAC heat comes from warm engine coolant circulating through the heater...

Re: Where to tap into 12v under hood 95sc2
Positive terminal post at the UHJB near the strut tower. Don't try tapping into the IPJB circuits as they are not sufficient and you'll end up burning the pins out in your fuse box. Lookup F5 issue...

In 98 I believe you could also get the pearl white. I've seen them in the 98 Sedans but not sure about the coupes. Pearl white was that same used on the 94 Homecoming SL2.

Cooling system problem?

Re: Cooling system problem?
Yes the thermostat is the likely suspect here. They do wear over time and they fail open. It should stay closed until about 188 degrees at which time it cracks open. At 195 it will be fully open. ...

Re: 1999 SC1 Heater Problem
That's not how I understand it to work. The thermostat is engineered to stay closed until the coolant reaches the crack open point (185 or 188). So there would be no flow into the radiator for some...

Got lucky. Found a wiper arm at my local pick n pull for $11 and it is installed. Had to clear off about 2 feet of compacted snow accumulation on the donor SL1.
Also picked up some seat rails...

I see what’s going on now. The console is pulled up at the back from its usual position. Makes the shifter look short. It caught my eye as not being normal and that’s because it was not.

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!
Be wary of the motor mount situation. The 91's were a unique year as far as motor mounts go. I don't think they make them aftermarket too.

GEN2 only had a PCM. GEN3 has both a PCM and BCM and the cruise control lives in the BCM.
