Re: Possible new Vue RL owner question!

FWIW, I'm almost positive VTEC engages in first in my AWD RL.

To the op, if you're still trying to decide, I absolutely love mine. It has a few minor annoyances (some interior squeaks and rattles...

Finally decided on new tires!

First off, I know there are somewhere in the vicinity of 12.3 billion tire threads in the VUE Red Line forum. I haven't really been able to find much of anything other than a few posts about this...

Re: Checking on my local dealer

Saturn of the Mountain Empire is just an extension of the used car lot, as well as surplus storage for the Acura/Mazda dealership it shares a lot with. I bought my VUE there last month, so I talked...

Re: Hood scoop!!!

Eh, I'm definitely not a fan of stick-ons. I have been looking around and thinking about molding a scoop from another car into a VUE hood, then having it all painted. It would be some time down the...

Re: Need your opinion. fix up or not? 94 SL2

FWIW, I wouldn't even attempt to go forced induction in an S-series unless I had about $8-10K laying around, and even then, I'd have to spend at least a year doing nothing but research and planning...

Re: Still getting compliments

Right on man. VUE's are good looking vehicles. I have to say, people have bad things to say about Saturns, but I still get the occasional, "Wow, that looks nice, what year is it?" When I drive my...

Re: Never left me on the road, not once

Gotta say, my '92 SC has been the best car I've ever owned. It has around 270,000 miles on it at this point, and it's been towed home once. The fuel pump went out, and I'm going to rebuild the...

Re: MW Saturn Homecoming 1994

Good view. Here are a few more that were linked off of that one that I found nice to watch:

Noticed something depressing yesterday...

I've seen more Smart cars on the road locally than Astras. I've seen 3 Astras on the road since their debut. Until yesterday, I'd only seen one Smart. Yesterday, I saw 4 Smarts in Bristol. It's a...

Re: What to do with a 91 Saturn coupe?

Where are you located, and why is the car for parts only? Even if it is only for parts, it could likely be of use to someone. Don't just send it to the crusher or junkyard. To them it's only a...

That she does. And you sir deserve kudos for keeping us so well informed on the whole situation.

Re: 1991-94 S series 1/10th of the reason for GM decline

I would also like to add that GM did build a new, loyal customer customer base. Then they alienated that customer base in an attempt to find a new one with more money and failed miserably.

I'm...

Re: 1991-94 S series 1/10th of the reason for GM decline

That guy has no clue what he's talking about. First off, the polymer panels don't have a gap large enough to stick a had through. Secondly, they don't discolor or fade any more quickly than any...

Re: Breaking News: GM to Focus on Core Brands, "Explore Alternatives" with Saturn

Just be sure to exclude the VTi in that statement. I've heard from people who said they'd never buy a Saturn because of that one transmission.

Anyway, it sucks that Saturn may be dying soon, but...

Re: What is the best Saturn ever made?

I have to agree with the S-series. It was what got Saturn started in the first place, and it was a very competitive car for its time. Granted, toward the end it was becoming rather outdated, but it...

Re: Should e-brake lock the rears?

I've never had a car that I could not lock up the rear wheels using the parking brake. I don't normally do that, but I did have a beater '92 SL2 that became quite accustomed to having the parking...

Re: 1992 saturn sc

Interesting fuel economy ratings there. My '92 SC with 200k+ miles usually averages about 28 city and 38-40 highway depending on speed. That's with no A/C usage (it doesn't work, of course :D). ...

Re: Coasting with an automatic transmission

Here's what happens. When you let off the gas and the car is in drive, the motor returns to idle (no mechanical link to the transaxle unless overdrive is engaged). When the motor is at idle and the...

Re: radiator drain valve

My '01 SC2 had a drain plug with a square hole that you put a 1/4" ratchet into. I'd never seen one before that, so I was confused at first. All of the others I've seen were like the ones posted...

Re: Cold air intakes.....................Compare!

+1. I have an AEM CAI on my SC (it was on it when I bought it), and I love it. It fits perfect, it's solid, looks awesome, and sounds great. When my dad had the '01 SC2 he put a cheap egay intake...

Re: Bristol, TN Meet. Revisited.

Get to work then!

I have no real idea when it would be. Just sometime next spring/summer. Probably May-July sometime, but really anything is good for me.

Bristol, TN Meet. Revisited.

So I'm going to start early this go around and see if anyone would be interested in having a meet in the Bristol area. The last one didn't really have any interest, but I'd like to have one.

So,...

Re: Remove DRL from 98 SL1

Or you can bend pin 86 on the DRL relay. Don't break it, just bend it to the side and reinstall. That's what I did on my '01 SC2 when I had it. Then when I traded it, I just bent it back and it...

Re: It's 2008. Foolish to buy a '93 Saturn?

It depends on the condition and your expectations. If you're expecting a car with all the amenities of an '08, you're in for a let down. But if you just want a reliable, fun, and economic car,...

Re: '02 SC2-Sticker price new

My '01 SC2 had a sticker price of a little over $19k. It was loaded with everything but automatic and side curtain airbags.
