Re: Am I screwed? (Sway bar bushing)

Re: Am I screwed? (Sway bar bushing)

How did you hold the new nut in place while tightening the bolt? Did you cut a hole in the frame somewhere?

Re: Am I screwed? (Sway bar bushing)

I've read that you can use a lower control arm nut as a replacement and I actually already have two since they weren't needed when replacing the control arms. Assuming no more than one more brakes, I...

Am I screwed? (Sway bar bushing)

These past two weekends I've been replacing pretty much my whole suspension as well as the subframe. Things have been going fairly well up until just recently though. When I was reinstalling my sway...

Re: Subframe square nut/clip replacement

I did use an impact to remove the 4 bolts. Made taking them out really easy. When putting everything back together I ended up using 4 new bolts with threadlocker. The passenger side is using the...

Re: On the road again

I recently replaced my tensioner because of the clanking with a gates one. For me, it doesn't clank although, it did squeak a little bit when under load. That stoped after a few days though.

Re: Subframe square nut/clip replacement

So, somehow the clip wasn't broken. It was just bent. I could probaby bend it back into place but I doubt it would hold up if it has to come out again.

Re: What tires would you recommend for the stock size?

There is but it would require a Tech2 scan tool or one of its many clones.

Going from a 195/60R15 to a 185/65R15 will hardly affect the speedometer. You'd have to be going 80 before its even 1mph...

Re: Whats your MPG?

24.9 mpg last fill up. All city, mostly short trips, some A/C, not too bad I guess.

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

1998, SL2, 92K miles. $800

Seller says it has cooling issues. My guess is one of two things, the owner is either unaware how high our temp gauges run, or it needs a ECTS. ...

Taping feeling on 1st and 4th spark plug boots

Today I replaced my valve cover for an aluminum one, and the two hoses and wires at the same time as well. After I started the engine though and started checking for leaks, I found a different...

Re: 99 SL2 rebuild thread

That bushing is a pain to remove from the knuckle once it breaks like that too. My drivers side broke last fall and I plan on replacing the passenger side soon just so that I don't have to deal with...

Re: Cooling system related questions

It ultimately doesn't matter what coolant you use as long as it's changed every 30K, or 3(or maybe it's 5?)years.

Re: Subframe square nut/clip replacement

I remember reading this on a few other threads about how to remove the clips. It just seems like a really poor design. Doesn't the factory service manual want you to remove the engine/transmission by...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

New belt tensioner and trans mount went on this weekend. The belt tensioner went in fine but the trans mount was a huge paint trying to get in. There isn't a whole lot of room to work with an...
