I included a link to the pic below, but I'm installing the timing chain and my gut tells me once the engine turns this will tighten up, but I just want to hear it from someone with experience.

The old head gasket was pretty bad, not blown yet though, thought I would include it for reference.

Well I started to clean more today and I did find the crack.

I would post a pic but I can't link or post pics yet. It's to the right of the AC mount. I'm going to move on and replace the head.

Thanks for the info.
I removed the valve cover and the AC bracket. I'll do most of the tear down tomorrow.

The quote he used was "it sprays out right there" pointing just above the AC bracket, which was followed with it dumps out oil about as fast as you can pour it in.

The Exhaust manifold is coated...

I bought a 96 SC and was told it had a cracked head. When I asked how they knew the answer I got was it was spraying oil out right above the AC compressor.

I decided I could either swap the head...

DIY mechanic all out life, owned a Saturn when I was younger, brand new 2000 S series, ( don't remember details) never had to work on it back then.

But I just bought a 96 SC2...
