Re: 2006 V6 AWD transmission problems

Got the solenoid unit out which was a pain just to get to. They pass the resistance spec and function properly when I power them up, but one of the valves doesn't move when I remove the power. Looks...

Re: Brake issues HELP PLEASE

I've always used a vacuum bleeder and never had an issue with low or soft brakes on a Vue. Starting from the nearest wheel back to the farthest from the master cylinder. If that doesn't get a firm...

Re: Tire rotation - lifting car on four jack stands?

Well, if you place jack stands under the front, you only need to jack up one side of the rear to get both rear tires off the ground. If you're just doing a tire rotation and not getting under the...

Re: New Vue owner - rust proofing question

As long as the timing marks line up after you install the belt, there is no real risk of damaging the engine. Well, if you don't tighten the tensioner or pulley bolts, sure, but otherwise no way to...

Programming remotes for 2006 without dealer, confirmed.

Some people here have tried to program remotes themselves without luck saying you have to take it to the dealer. This is my second 2006 on which I got it to program remotes without a scan tool using...

Re: 2006 V6 AWD transmission problems

I have a factory service manual for 2006 Honda Pilot and Ridgeline but not for a Vue. Should be similar for the transmission though. Thanks for the diagrams. I'll start into it after I'm done with...

2006 V6 AWD transmission problems

Just got it and only has 95,000 miles. After it's warmed up it drives perfectly normal. When cold it might not upshift out of the lower gears until 3000 rpm and then bang into gear when it does....

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue 5 Sp V6, Auto Hunts?

Interference engine. You're playing Russian roulette driving it with 180,000 miles if it has the original belt.

Re: 2004 VUE AWD problem

Therein lies the rub. As fdryer posted in the service information, The rear differential assembly uses a specifically developed synthetic hypoid fluid which is intended for a lifetime service...

Re: New Vue owner - rust proofing question

Also change the spark plugs at the same time. Much easier to turn the engine over with the plugs out.

Re: 2004 VUE AWD problem

It's a purely mechanical system. RDM is the weak link in these AWD Vues. Fluid never gets changed or leaks out and the clutch pack burns up.

Re: Should i give up? P0300

All that but haven't put in new plugs? That's the first thing you do with a P0300.

Re: 2003 2.2L won't start after sitting 6 months

New module and no change. Haven't checked for codes before because since it doesn't run, no CEL to look for. But as suggested on another forum I checked anyway. Shows P2301 and P2304 Ignition coil A...

How is the sharkfin antenna mast removed?

On 06-07 models. Missing mine and saw one in a junkyard. Does it twist off? Pull straight up? Unbolt?

For $1.88 including shipping all the way from China you want them to fit too?:D I take it they are NLA? Would these Sky pads have fit?...

Re: Alternative battery options to the #86?

Yea, that's the one. $120-$150 for small 86 is ridiculous when a $49 battery will fit.

Alternative battery options to the #86?

Dropped in a Civic #51 temporarily just so I don't have to jump it every time I drive somewhere and turn it off. Not buying an 86 unless I find a year or two old used one. Will a 26 fit? They are...

Re: Rattle in Engine Bay after Timing Belt Replacement

Serpentine belt tensioner pulley? Alternator? I'd take the belt off temporarily and start it up to check if the noise is still there. If it is, probably some part in the timing kit. What brand was...

I once used Dexron 6 with no issues but probably ran a good 15 quarts through it.

Re: Will Saturns be classic cars?

You're comparing an entry level family driver to a high performance sports car. Not really valid. Compare the Saturn to similar GM cars 20 years prior. Not may Chevettes left and they are not...

Re: Can you tow an AWD with just the front wheels off the ground?

Bought it at auction which is 30 miles from home. Seller said coolant boils over when idling, no problem when running. Not sure if fans not working or water pump bad or head gasket going so I thought...
