Re: Spray painting in winter - bad idea?

The main thing I would be concerned about is that- even though the Rattle Cans would start out at Room Temp of 70 Degrees... then you are moving into the garage...at 30-35 Degrees- is that the Rattle...

Re: Tracking down a coolant leak

In one of my cars, I had a small crack that developed on the UNDERSIDE of the Coolant Tank. It was a small 1/4 inch crack that was almost impossible to see, unless you REALLY looked for it.

I...

Re: Will Saturns be classic cars?

I can agree with everything you have written. I should point out a few things as well:

There are people in today's society now- who were not alive during the 1990s; and many of them were babies...

Re: Will Saturns be classic cars?

I honestly believe- that any 1991 Model Year cars (Remember only ~48K were built the first year); which now are eligible for Historical Plate status...and rightly should be labeled as such... will be...

Re: Does 2002 SL2 have traction control?

The best way to know is to look at your RPO Options label sticker that is on the cover of the Spare Wheel in the Trunk.

If you have traction control on the car, on top of the "Bubble Radio", you...

Re: serious vibration coming from front end

Do you have a low wheel growl coming from the front end as well?

One of the things that happens with vibration could be wheel bearings going bad. That was what happened with me on my former...

Here is a link to a post from last year, that has some pictures.

Ugh- you are correct... why did I type Double Flare. ??? I think it was because I was reading about it in another thread...

They are Bubble Flares... and Yes- there is a difference, in how the...

Re: Brake lines

I had the actual brake line rust out, that runs across the back rear support, that sprung a leak. Every time I went to pump the pedal, I could see fluid pulsate out.

Double Flare ends. And...

Re: Clutch or syncros going bad

If you have put over 200K miles on it, and it is 13 years old; it very well could be the beginning of the flywheel and pressure plate starting to go.

If you look under the hood, down behind the...

* Is there any type of "Burning Brake Metallic Smell"?
* What is the condition of the Shifter Cables, as well as...

Re: plastic panel push pin fasteners

Your best option is going to be a temporary fix of a steel zip tie, until you can get to the JY to pull a bunch of them off of an older car. They use to be just a dealer item. I have a whole bunch...

Check the condition of the Ignition Control Module (ICM), and the Coil Packs

Re: Broken 01 SL1 manual shift cable?

I honestly think you should contact the U Pull and Pay in Phoenix and ask them prices on manual cables, and drive there to get them. You can do better than $100+ on import OEM cables from Canada. ...

Re: Broken 01 SL1 manual shift cable?

For what it's worth- there is a U Pull and Pay, that is in Phoenix... I know... it's a little over 100 miles from you; BUT- it may be worth the drive for you to see if they have any Manual Trans cars...

Re: Broken 01 SL1 manual shift cable?

As LordofChaos commented- if you are able to find a decent set of used OEM cables, that would be the better option. Most of the aftermarket parts, especially with Shifter Cables- are poorly made and...

I'll agree with this modification. In all honesty- GM should have made the shifter bushings and connections between the manual transmission points and the shifter itself- made out of metal, rather...

I think the same comments will pop up in this thread.

It is worth the time and effort to get a GOOD Set of USED OEM shifter cables from a JY car.

What year is your car? On first gen- the...
