Re: Going under the knife

Yes, the shoes have plenty of material left on them. However, Cheyne makes a very valid point regarding contamination. I agree that it would be best to replace the brake shoes. It's all about safety...

Re: 2007 Ion engine sludge?

Where in SoCal are you located, Toasterdon?

To the best of my knowledge, no auto manufacturer recommends an engine flush. GM doesn't endorse that service. Lucas used to advertise an oil stabilizer...

Re: Air Conditioning Problem?

^ Absolutely correct.

If you're not inclined to do this kind of work to find a freon leak then you'll need to take the car to a reputable shop which can diagnose and repair the problem....

Re: Another alignment needed after Frnt strut install??

I like VUEmaniac's recommendation here. It's good.
The portion highlighted in red is extremely important. The part of the shaft which is moving within the body of the strut must remain perfectly...

Re: Problem caused becaise of Batt connection.

You're absolutely right about battery cable connections needing proper tightening. I must admit that I'm somewhat surprised to find out that the mechanic disconnected the positive cable from the...

Re: Rusted looking rim

I agree with ssicarman that a wire brush is needed to remove the rust on the rim. There are circular wire brushes designed for use in electric drills which would prove useful in this instance. The...

Re: Aura won't start on first try.

Thank you for the reply. Generally, oil changes (and brakes) are a given for maintenance. With regard to history, the interest would be in the major services, i.e., tune up, transmission service,...

Re: Aura won't start on first try.

I have no idea what the problem could be. The "big bang" could've been a backfire. Does this problem relate to outside temperatures at all, or does that not matter? Have there been any driveability...

Re: 3.0 Engines

While viewing an online OE parts website it appears that the block is identical as the internal parts are share the same part numbers. Cylinder head part numbers are different for some reason, but...

Re: LS2 Oxygen sensor problem

I don't understand your reluctance to reuse the old oxygen sensor. It's unlikely that reinstalling it will result in worsening your situation, but it's your car and your choice to do what you think...

Re: LS2 Oxygen sensor problem

Look up the Bosch O2 sensor part number/s at RockAuto.com. You could purchase them there or even through Amazon.com in all likelihood. I'm inclined to agree with you presently that the new...

Re: LS2 Oxygen sensor problem

So do you no longer have the one old O2 sensor which was working normally to reinstall and use as a diagnostic aid?

Re: subframes,

I'm not sure that there is really much to know about the differences between the two sub-frames. There may be a difference with the exhaust system parts and routing (you can look that up for...

Re: Plastic in oil pan; safe to drive?

I'm not the OP, but I would like to understand the above sentence. It's not as clear as it should be due to miswording and lack of punctuation perhaps...Thank you. :) BTW, your advice was good!

Re: LS2 Oxygen sensor problem

Welcome to SaturnFans, OldFotoMan!

If you haven't thrown out your old O2 sensor that was "good," why not pull out the new bank 2 sensor 1 and reinstall the old sensor there to see if that alters...

Re: intake question

I ran my own search of the K&N website catalog to find a cold air intake application for the 07 Ion with any engine available and it agrees with ruley73's answer. See the link below.

Re: water pump aura xr oem or is there a better one

Welcome to SaturnFans, ddb!

FWIW, I think that is your best choice also.
I've seen no evidence of that. I'm reasonably sure that, in this case, the information comes from the AC-Delco catalog.

Re: coilovers

Did you really mean the Cadillac CTS, or were you intending to write Cadillac Catera? Admittedly, I haven't made a comparison of the CTS with the L-Series, but we do know that the Catera and L-Series...

Re: coilovers

The point being made by floridasl22002 is that the search for coilovers needs to be directed towards the various models named in his post. What you need to determine with regard to the Saab vehicles...

Re: Lw200 dashboard removal?

I like that idea, it makes sense to me.

According to the FSM, the center console must first be removed and later the steering wheel must be removed along with the column mounted switches. It...
