Re: Draining an 03 auto transmission. Plz HELP!

You have a VTi not an auto, since that's the only 2.2 with AWD. A gallon of Dex-CVT is around $50, and a full 2x drain and fill, the procedure GM calls for, requires 2 gallons, 1 quart, and the...

Re: Astra engine uses a belt for cam drive

in the training I've done, it seems like Astra is the most unadulterated european car one can buy in the US. For example, on the base DIC, you cannot select a 12 hour clock, 24 is the only way it...

Re: Astra engine uses a belt for cam drive

there's a 30 or 35,000 mile interval for valve adjustment in the astra. it's in all our dealership literature.

the spark plugs aren't the long life ones found in the 2.x ecotecs either, they're...

Re: Diff-Pin Mod

you have to do a better job than in that picture if you expect it to hold up. once I blew one welded one up, I wised up. taper the edges of the diff pin and grind some away around the edges so that...

Re: Optional Onstar for 2007

Nobody's saying that it doesn't add to the cost, but what if I want it without a radio, or AC? Understandably OnStar isn't something consumers EXPECT, but it's a feature they feel to be fitting of...

Re: Cutaway photos

Good Job, you get an A in SATURNS! YAY!

So, who's up for putting a VTEC sticker on an '08 Vue? That'd be pretty sweet.

Re: Optional Onstar for 2007

Hate to break it to you, but you're wrong. http://www.chevrolet.com/safety/after/onstar/ "Available on Select Models."

And to prove myself right, I built an 07 Cobalt SS Supercharged. OnStar is...

Re: Need Help

GM has started requiring ID and registration for VIN cuts because of the potential for theft. Sounds fair to me.

Re: wheel skirt pics

It'd look way cooler if you put them on the front.

Don't think I don't know why you didn't.

Re: Miss my SL2

You have been mislead.

Here's a little chart:

Entry Level: 91-02 S ==>03-07 ION ==> 08+ Astra (Americanized Opel Astra, whooda thunk?)
Midsize: 00-05 L Series (Built on an Opel Chassis) ==> ...

Re: Dual XD5120 & 2000 SL2(Saturn)

I really like my Dual HU (XDM 7700), had it for two years without a problem. Of course, my harness isn't cut.

You need a DMM or a test light to make sure that you have 12v on your B+ and switched...

Re: What if I........

EGR actually helps to bring down combustion temperatures, hence the lower NOx, but apparently not enough to influence gas mileage one way or another.

Re: High idle: TPS dead AGAIN?

Check the idle air control valve. Could have an intermittent stick.

Re: Check the idle FIRST

ECM reprogram is not expensive, updated calibrations are released frequently.

If it's especially notable when the tank is low on gas, it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Perhaps the fuel pump...

Re: Post pics of your rims! All S-Series!

Approximately a ton.

Actually, I have no idea. They're not the lightest wheels ever, but who cares, it's a Saturn, not a racecar, as a wise cop once told me.

Re: Post pics of your rims! All S-Series!

Public Service Announcement: PLEASE, for the love of god lower your car if you put it on 17's. We don't need monster truck Saturns driving around.

Now for me:...

Re: Error code, bad emissions!

Don't get too worked up about it, not unless you have an emissions check in your state. It's not hurting the performance of your car, just throwing that annoying light to pressure you into fixing...

Re: Just called dealer about alignment...

There is actually a special tool, and it's pretty slick. It has an arm that slots in the holes of the rear arm, and then a handle that goes into the big hole in the center of the rear suspension...

Re: Belt or Chain Driven

Huh? The Honda is better in your opinion, but the chain drive Ecotec gives an advantage?

As for me, I'm a chain guy. If you take care of it, it's a lifetime part. There's not an ominous $1000+...

Re: what's with the evelopes being sent out?

Just because the media's led you to believe that GM is on life support doesn't mean they're broke to the point of not affording envelopes. Quite the contrary.

Re: Optional Onstar for 2007

It's not standard on all GM products, but it is standard on all Saturns. Part of the brand image that they are trying to project.

Re: Cutaway photos

Damn near every car has sway bar links, of course this is going to be true. Just hope they beefed them up a little.

Only V6's have hydraulic PS, the ecotec retains EPS. I'm sure you knew that...

Re: 08 Vue awd system?

Visually it is different, meaning it mounts to the rear subframe differently and is not the same shape as the old one externally. But it probably is still versatrak in some way, shape, or form.
