Re: I went to check on a issue with my parking brake but found something way worse..

Re: Broken Stud Top Motor Mount to Frame/Bracket

I haven't looked closely at that part in a while but I think the stud is welded on. You may be able to drill it out and use a bolt & nut, but I bet that would be a pain. A junkyard is a good option.

Yep, that's bad. If you aren't skilled in welding and fabrication, the car is probably a goner.

Re: roof panel question

You mean 14 years old - unless you are posting from 2010. If so, I recommend stocking up on non-perishables and toilet paper in January 2020. And, sell all your stock.

Re: Keep my SL2 or get a SW2?

Nice! I'd like to have a wagon but I'm also coming to appreciate the sedan is the best for junkyard parts availability.

Re: Need to replace oil pan, help w/ links/info?

Did you take off the transmission stiffening bracket?
Did you take off the little sheetmetal thing that closes out the bottom of the bellhousing?

I've only done this on a '99 but it was no...

Re: 98 SC2 project. Drive for now, maybe rebuild later.

I can recall a motorcycle magazine article where they were testing a new loctite product - Form-a-Thread. They wanted to try it on conrod bolts.

Re: 98 SC2 project. Drive for now, maybe rebuild later.

That is awesomely nasty.

Went to LKQ yesterday to get a new 3rd brake light thing. I didn't realize the sedans have a different part. Since I struck out I'm fixing my broken one. I made a piece...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I drove it to LKQ. Felt good to drive. Didn't realize the center brake light or the inside mirror cover was different on the coupe so I struck out there. Does anybody else feel bad leaving a car...

I can hear you. Since the last update it seems the forum is no longer tracking my latest visit. Much stuff shows up as unread except from well before the update.
