Re: Saturn got a Lift

I installed the Monroe Quick Strut assemblies. The SL2 had 100K miles so had not sagged badly. Being a 3rd gen, I decided to replace the springs in addition to strut cartridges and mounts and so...

Re: Radiator fan not working!

Should have knocked on wood. TYC went weak on Friday after just over two years and 52k I just replaced with the OE fan motor so that I don't have to address again for a while. Just for the record...

Re: Water leaks

First suspect is the oval gasket/screen on the passenger side cowl under the hood. Check to see if it's there and firmly adhered to the cowl.

Re: 2001 SW2 manual: starter won't engage - no solenoid click

This does sound like a starter. We're just trying to help rule out other things since no one wants you to have the starter replaced and it not be the problem.

Attempted jump start appears to rule...

Re: Valve Body Mystery Connector Leak

Ok. Just wondered if they had filled with lower viscosity fluid. The Amsoil viscosity should not be a problem. Look at their tech sheets and compare to Dexron III/Mercon. I personally use the Mobil 1...

Re: 2001 SW2 manual: starter won't engage - no solenoid click

Battery test is free. Voltage test at starter is to rule out ignition problem.

Re: 2001 SW2 manual: starter won't engage - no solenoid click

I generally suspect it later. I've only had one go out in any of my Saturns, some with high mileage. Oddly enough on a lower mileage one like the OP has.

It does sound like the starter. Carefully...

Re: 2001 SW2 manual: starter won't engage - no solenoid click

How old is the battery? Are the cables clean and tight?

A battery can have voltage and still be bad. I would have the battery tested first.

Re: Valve Body Mystery Connector Leak

The problem is still most likely the seal linked above.

You could always PM Special Forces or call Ken Partin for another opinion and the part.

Re: Valve Body Mystery Connector Leak

Is the leak coming from inside the connector/buss plate or from between the cover and seal?

Re: Radiator fan not working!

OE fan motor is available at RockAuto. If you want a fan assembly, I've used the TYC on the last SL2. Has been in for a couple of years with heavy AC use.

You are correct, and I admit it was wrong. I apologize.

I believe the problems with the FCA transmissions many times are the extended OCI. As mentioned before, I've owned many over the years and...

Re: cam/crank sensor

Maintain the oil and cooling system and you'll be fine. Same for the transmission. Don't buy the 100k service intervals. Service at no more than 60k.

Re: cam/crank sensor

Doubt the OP was trying too recreate an overheat situation. :|

OP, you should be fine now. May want to have a cam sensor on the parts shelf.
