Re: Someone ran over my Saturn LS2

You make a good point. :D

Having issues with the mechanic shop that has my car. They're telling me I can only use junk yard parts for my car, cause the insurance company is only allowed to...

Re: Someone ran over my Saturn LS2

Insurance agent got to me today and said the car is fixable and is giving me a check for $1500. Considering the left rear suspension is gone as well as the tire+rim is destroyed, along with the...

Someone ran over my Saturn LS2

So yea my Saturn got into an accident. They hit the back left wheel of my car and then scratched the entire left side and ripped off the mirror. Proceeding to smash their vehicle into a wall of a...

Re: Trans started acting up today

Is it possible that this problem is a bad 2-3 solenoid in the trans? There was a massive vacuum leak that just happened today and I fixed it, but didn't solve the trans problem.

Also, I may end...

Re: Trans started acting up today

When I got this car the trans was already very problematic. So I change the fluid in it once a year, along with the filter. Didn't put Lucas oil this year, guess I'll end up getting a bottle.

Trans started acting up today

On the way back home the trans started to act up. Either from 2-3 or 3-4 the engine would quickly jump up in RPM and then engage the next gear. Does this sound like a bad solenoid or it's something...

Re: Has anyone here installed a trans cooler?

The reason for one is that my Saturns trans will begin to slam into first gear from a stand still after about 30 minutes worth of driving. The valve body is obviously bad but I don't think it's...

Has anyone here installed a trans cooler?

I'm thinking about putting one on my Saturn LS2 and wondering where would be the best place to put it? Most people like to put them in front of the radiator, but that just adds more heat to the...

Re: How hard is it to get to the evaporator?

Well I put a new cap on the low side for about a month and the AC hasn't stopped working. It may still leak, but it must be very slow now. So I guess that means the low side connector needs a new...

Re: L Series Reliability and DIY

I lifed the front only. The trans call fors Dex 3, but newer models got Dex 6. Considering the condition the trans is in, I put in Dex 6. It's much cheaper to get the Walmart brand. Almost 50%...

Re: Looking for Strut bar

That's what I meant a Strut bar. The L-series can certainly flex so I was wondering why one wasn't installed. I found a post where someone took one from an Impala and had to drill holes through the...

Re: L Series Reliability and DIY

IMO the gaskets don't matter, but then again I change my trans fluid yearly. I would go for the WIX brand as I've always had good results with them. NAPA would have WIX. I actually don't use a...

Looking for Strut bar

I noticed my Saturn LS2 has no strut bar. Did the L-Series ever come with them, and if so anyone happen to have the part number?

Re: L Series Reliability and DIY

I have a V6 and I agree, the 4cyclinder is much easier to work on. I'd say the #1 problematic feature on the L-Series is the transmission. You must change the trans fluid and transmission often. ...

Re: How hard is it to get to the evaporator?

An 8oz can worth. Before that a 16oz can but with no dye.

About 3 weeks.

It does.

Whatever gauge that came with the 16oz can. I pretty much just put enough until I hear the compressor...

Re: L300 Shifting problems

Does that actually work, and is it safe for the transmission?

Anyway I've been changing my trans fluid once a year. You do only change about half the oil at best. Been using Dextron VI even...

Re: High Gas mileage LS2

For highway driving it was nearly a 30% boost. I have tested this repeatedly.

Anyway, finally drained the last of my $20 gas. Put in 5.466 gallons and was able to drive for 123.6 miles for...

How hard is it to get to the evaporator?

I had to put in freon in my Saturn this year, and it seems to be leaking it out. Only that I can't find the leak. I put in UV freon into the system and can't find any glowing green or yellow spots....

Re: Do we have a Cabin Air Filter?

Thanks I found it. Time to replace it. Says GM on it, which could mean it was never replaced.

Do we have a Cabin Air Filter?

Rockauto listed this for my car but I don't remember seeing a place for it. Does the L-series come with a Cabin Air Filter?

Re: High Gas mileage LS2

It was a custom made filter I made based off of Robman's suggested parts. Probably cost me no more then $70 off Ebay.

Here's the thread with pictures....

Re: High Gas mileage LS2

No I didn't flush. Drained the trains oil and put in Dexron 6. Oddly enough, I put in LubeGard the other day and noticed better MPG. Trans seems to be doing better too.

Been doing this to the...

Re: High Gas mileage LS2

I was doing some digging around and found an interesting post (http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1064922&postcount=8). I'm getting nearly 10 MPG with my Saturn, so I really wanna find...
