Re: 2009 Aura OBD2

pull down the connector and examine pins and rear for wires pulled out I guess. Hate it when I get a car in and right off the connection is weird or messed up...persistence and a meter my friend.

Re: Service traction?!?! help

It's not but the ECM takes input for dozens of sensors and if some are out of range for whatever reason, the ECM will disable systems like ABS,TC and even anti-theft if certain sensors inform of an...

Re: Aura 3.6 p0420

consider inserting a spark plug non-fouler inline to the O2 sensor moving the sensor out of the exhaust stream-done this on dozens of cars over the years and it has always cured this annoying CEL for...

Re: dash cluster swap solved problems

Thanks for all this information, I'm going to get an idea on repairs to my original cluster, but in the mean time my new/used cluster that is frozen on 43,910 is lit up and is a pleasure to view...

dash cluster swap solved problems

really weird, my 2007 XR with 196,000 miles has always had electrical issues, and I just got a new (used) cluster off ebay because the led's for the needles and the gas/temp gauge went out. Of...

Re: 2007 xr dash lights stopped working one pod

thanks for that info, I guess I'll send it out, hate it not working even though I could still see the needles even in the dark, it just looks weird. Lots of electronics on this car, more to go bad...

2007 xr dash lights stopped working one pod

Like the title says, my '07 with 196,000 miles just did this-there are three pods in the instrument cluster, from l to r tach/speedo/fuel-temp. Out of no where, the feul/temp does not light. Are...

Re: Fuel trims questions

cat inefficency is usually a cat that is worn out or the O2 sensor behind the cat is bad. It may or may not have anything to do with your slightly out of spec fuel trims, they have to be pretty far...

Re: Fuel trims questions

CEL= check engine light.
Your LTFT's can occasionally go rich and over 10% during acceleration and other transitions from gas to brake, but should quickly respond in STFT to counter act the...

Re: Fuel trims questions

these cars are not great in stop and go drliving (3500+ lb car), either the 3.5 or 3.6 will get 12-16 mpg tops in city driving and I would not be worried by a 4% difference from one bank to another...

Re: 07 Aura XR Gauge Panel

I have never had to replace a cluster on this 07 XR, but I have read for YEARS that a new cluster (and radio too!) need to have a tech II to get it matched to the vin to function-where is the info...

Re: 2007 Saturn Aura XE electrical problem?!?

Don't overlook the ground solution too, these things are notorious for doing things like this-case in point, I've had my 07 XR for 5 years now (was given to me for free) and I still have an...

Re: 07 Aura XR Gauge Panel

sure, you could drive it without gauges just pay attention to noises, speed. have gas...and hope other things don't fo wrong. not a cheap fix either since a new cluster has to get the tech ii...

Re: Fuel trims questions

When I look at fuel trims I look at STFT first to see if the readings are over 10% at idle, then watch the LTFT-they should be as close to 0 as possible. I do use a graphing scanner so I can see O2...

Re: Fuel trims questions

Generally speaking, if the LTFT is less than 10% (positive or negative) there is nothing wrong with the fuel management, it is when it is more than 10% that something is not right. STFT's history...

Re: HELP!!!! 2009 Saturn Aura...P0685 & P1682

the 1682 is usually an ignition switch on a GM, there are two circuits going to the ECU and it monitors the voltages and if there is a difference, that code is tripped. the 685 relates to the power...

Re: 08 Aura XR strut & tower brace recommendations

I've driven it for over a month now and can say it seems to have made a difference in my perception of the noises that I sometimes heard from the front end while driving over rough roads-it is...

Re: 2008 Aura ECM Location

I don't know what engine you have but my 07 XR's ECM is all the way up front driver side by radiator support-it's a large silver finned box with i think three harnesses plugged into it. Have to...

Re: 2007 Aura electrical problems or security problems?

From what you've written it sounds like you are going to have to deconstruct the home made wiring job first, then see what the PO did not fix correctly-It would not surprise me if the BCM, or the...

Re: whining when turning steering wheel

Since it sat that long, i'd immediately think it was the alternator trying to get the charge up on the battery-but check the fluid level in the power steering pump reserve anyway. Another...

Re: Aura XR Spark Plug Change

I have a 2007 XR with 195,000 miles and did the plugs at around 180,000-I did not have to rotate the engine to get to the back cylinders but the furthest one left (closest to the power brake...

Re: 08 Aura XR strut & tower brace recommendations

I just installed one of these from Megan Racing, it was $85 delivered and bolted right up to my 2007 Aura XR-hood closes perfectly, and it is a nice looking bar. It is listed as being for a G6 but...
