Re: abs light on

I had the light come on and the fault code showed a bad sensor but it wasn't. It was the fine wire from the lead to the computer. Took a day and a half to find it. The insulation was damaged,...

Re: 2009 Vue "Manual Mode" question

Mine goes to first at a stop in manual even though 3rd is shown. The acceleration from a stop would be horrible if it remained in 3rd. In fact, it would be down right dangerous. In manual with 3...

Re: LOL rodents in airbox

A friend of mine had his air conditioning system full of dead mice after it sat for the winter - cost over $1000 to have the mess removed. Another friend used "Bounce", the scented sheets used in a...

Re: Transmission software update (BUMP)

Took mine on a trip out of town today through hilly country and the improvement with the new programe is fantastic. Gone is the over shooting of set speed and the constant cycling of...

Re: Transmission software update (BUMP)

Just had the update installed. Took it for a short test drive and all indications are it has made a world of difference. On minor slopes it shifts into third, where before, it would drop to second....

Re: Filling Tires With Nitrogen

The atmosphere is 78% nitrogen anyway. By using nitrogen you simply replace the other 22% with more nitrogen.

Re: Multiple Problems with 2008 XE - Anyone Else?

I've had mine for little over one year and have only had one problem and that was the ABS. This was fixed and has worked satisfactorily since. :)

Re: ABS Engaging Constantly

More than likely it is a wheel sensor. The maintenance people can plug the diagnostic unit in and drive the car. When the brakes are applied the speed of the car can be read.. When the sensor fails...

Re: Down for the count

The center electrode was burned and the gap had widened considerably. The extra charge required to cause the spark to jump the wider gap some how feeds back to the ECM eventually causing problems....

Re: Down for the count

I had my 04 behave the same. Under load the engine missed and lost power. If I geared down it would pick up and run smoothly. Turned out to be the ECM as well as burned plugs. I read/heard that bad...

Re: 2008 Vue Hybrid Stalling/Shaking, and making Popcorn noises at startup.

Has anyone thought of checking the valve timing? Any popping noises I have heard have had to do with fuel/air mixture getting into the exhaust manifold and being ignited there. Since this is a VVT...

Re: abs malfunction indication

It may not be the sensor. The diagnostic will show a sensor;when in fact, it is the wire leading from the sensor to the computer. I had the problem a couple of months ago and it took 10 hrs to find...

Re: Getting a new vue, but I can't pick a color!

RUBY RED METALIC seems to be the favorite around here. The sales team leader tells me it is out selling the others 3 to 1. I have one. I had a gold one reserved but when I saw the RUBY RED there was...

Re: Doing anything different because of $4/gallon?

Probably worse than sitting at lights is the re-acceleration to the speed limit each time. With the scanguage I have managed to decrease my fuel consumption 7mpg simply by slowing from 65 to 50 for...

Re: 2008 Saturn Vue XE - A Closet Gas Hog

I got 27.5 mpg(US) on my last tank of 90%city. I purchased a Scanguage and was amazed by what it revealed. The greatest saving can be had by slowing down. Any speed in excess of 55 mph really...
